Guide Format

This build guide is split over multiple pages, both to prevent it from getting too long, as well as to help you better find the information you are looking for. In addition to the current page, which presents general information about the build and also contains a Leveling and FAQ section, we have the following pages:

Introduction

Fire Wild Strike Berserker is an elemental-based attacker that excels at dealing tons of Fire damage with Critical Strikes while dual-wielding Swords. The character requires some specific items and gearing, but when properly geared it can reach vast amounts of damage output while maintaining decent Life pool.

Build Summary

In order for the build to work properly it needs two unique Jewels: Combat Focus (Strength and Intelligence) Combat Focus (Strength and Intelligence) and Combat Focus (Dexterity and Strength) Combat Focus (Dexterity and Strength). This will allow our Wild Strike Wild Strike to only be able to choose the Fire portion of the skill, which we aim to scale greatly. When it comes to gearing, the character might become very expensive, as you will need two decently rolled Rapiers along with well rolled gear with Life, Elemetal Damage with Attacks and Critical Modifiers.

Pros & Cons

Pros

+ Hardcore viable
+ Great clear speed, responsive character that is fun to play
+ Insane endgame damage potential

Cons

- The build can be expensive

Playstyle

Offensively, you should Leap Slam Leap Slam into packs of monsters and rapidly annihilate enemies with Wild Strike Wild Strike. Blood Rage Blood Rage provides a decent amount of additional damage via the Attack Speed and Frenzy charges. Ancestral Warchief Ancestral Warchief provides additional damage whenever needed.

Defensively, you must make sure your Fortify buff is always up. Defensive flasks like Basalt Flask Basalt Flask and Granite Flask Granite Flask should be used for additional physical damage mitigation. A Vaal Molten Shell Vaal Molten Shell is a great Guardian skill choice for the build.

For playstyle, stunning enemies with Leap Slam and killing the whole pack with one or two Multistrikes of Wild Strike is what you should be doing. Berserk Berserk should be used against tougher foes: it provides a great amount of damage output and damage mitigation, which allows you to stay in place and melt any enemy that dares to stay in your path. Same can be said for War Banner War Banner with its Adrenaline buff.

Passive tree

This is the endgame passive skill tree for the build.

For more information, be sure to check out the Passive Skill Tree page.

Ascendancy, Bandits, and Pantheons

Our Ascendancy, Bandit, and Pantheon Power page goes into detail about all the choices you need to make in these regards.

Gems

We go over all of the gem links this build uses in the end-game on our Gem Link page.

Gear Summary / TL;DR

These items provide a good balance between offense and defense and are enough to deal with the endgame, although there is definitely a room for improvement. Please ensure you read the Gear, Jewels and Flasks page in its entirety.

Leveling

As a reminder, we have several guides to help you level up a character.

It is recommended to start using Wild Strike Wild Strike around level 38, when you are able to start using Multistrike Support Multistrike Support and have both Combat Focus Jewels on, prior to that Frost Blades Frost Blades will easily carry you.

Leveling Trees

This is the early passive skill tree, which will get you through the leveling content.

Useful Leveling Unique Items

As you begin a new character, there are few unique items that can boost your power exponentially. Tabula Rasa Tabula Rasa allows you to have a 6-Linked skill as early as you get the gems. Wanderlust Wanderlust gives a decent movement speed, which will make your leveling that much more efficient. Goldrim Goldrim provides a lot of elemental resistances, this will let you worry less about gearing when approaching certain Act encounters.

If you are a new player (or if this is your first character for the league), then note that obtaining these items will be very difficult, if not impossible. They are rare drops, which you can otherwise only acquire if you have saved up currency, so do not focus on them too much, and instead simply look for items that match the affix priorities listed in the gearing section above.

Gem Progression

Using Tabula Rasa Tabula Rasa will allow you to have 6-Link gem setups early on, which is why we show such examples below. If you cannot get Tabula Rasa (or another item with a 6-Link), then simply prioritize the first gems in each link provided below.

In order to acquire gems that are not available to your class as a quest reward, simply ask a friend to buy them off vendors for you, or buy them yourself from Sioasa in The Library in Act III Library.

From level 1, you should use the following link.

  1. Frost Blades Frost Blades

FAQ

What map mods are impossible to do?

Elemental Reflect is impossible to do; you can do Physical Reflect without any issue since you fully convert to Fire. Cannot Leech is also problematic and should be skipped.

Conclusion

The Fire Wild Strike Berserker is a savage that completely obliterates everything in its path with its Fire-based attacks. The character can become expensive when it comes to endgame gearing but will allow you to farm the hardest of bosses.

Hi Vvckd. I’m thinking of making wild strike build next. i was wondering since it works like elemental hit, would using Xoph for amulet and getting its avatar of fire would be a good option? and should the focus be elemental damage or physical damage?

Hey, preferably you would want to use the right Combat Focus Jewels. Since you are getting 100% conversion from Physical to Elemental you should primarily focus on building Physical damage.
