INTRODUCTION

The Flame Wall Spellslinger is all about hitting enemies with your Kinetic Blast Kinetic Blast which will explode and as it is a wand attack it will trigger our Flame Wall Flame Wall which is linked to Spellslinger Support Spellslinger Support making the Kinetic Blast projectiles & explosions carry the fire degen from the Flame Wall and ignite enemies. It is a very cool & niche build to play as an alternative to all the meta-builds being present in Path of Exile.

BUILD OVERVIEW

In this section I will outline the pros, cons, & the general play-style. This will allow you to determine if the build is for you or not!

PROS

+ Unique – The build offers a very unique play-style and functions by shooting projectiles through a wall of flame.

+ League Starter – Low budget requires no unique item and the ones available for gear upgrades are easily available early in a league.

+ High Variety End-Game – The build can very easily be transitioned to many different builds or be brought to high budget state where the efficiency scales fairly well.

CONS

Squishy – Despite decent layers of defence & high sustain it is not recommended to rush in to enemies with this build. Instead you’ll want to shoot around corners to avoid having the enemies in your face.

Bossing – Since this build is focusing entirely on DoT damage you can very easily apply your damage to then proceed to dodging enemy attacks.

Stutter-Step – The unique play-style this build promotes is to shoot around corners to avoid needing to face-tank enemies.

PLAY-STYLE

The play-style is very straight forward yet unique for this type of build. We are going to be using Kinetic Blast to trigger our Flame Wall via Spellslinger Support Spellslinger Support and then watch the enemies explode in to pretty stacks of loot.

DAMAGE SCALING AND DEFENSIVE LAYERS

Since the build is utilizing Fire DoT we don’t have any direct negative effects on the enemies that will keep us safe. To counter this we will in the end-game use a chest piece (either Inpulsa or an “explody-chest”) to explode enemies which will keep us safe from Bone Husks & Porcupines. We’ll also be having a solid sustain being hybrid with both Life & Energy Shield using the Timeless Jewel of Doryani which provides the keystone Corrupted Soul this makes it so that we gain 20% of our life as extra energy shield as well as making 50% of non-chaos damage bypass our Energy Shield to spread the damage taken on both our pools of effective life. This combined with max block cap & sources to sustain both Life & Energy Shield the build has a lot of layers of defences to make up for being somewhat squishy.

LEVELING

This build has the grand privilege of being able to level with the abilities that we are going to use in the end-game.

GETTING TO THE SPELLSLINGER GEM

Before you get to the Spellslinger Support Spellslinger Support (LvL 24) we will be self-casting specific spells. The skills listed below are the ones I prefer to use til I hit level 12:

    Didn’t watch the video, so sorry in advance if some of my questions are answered there. Is this build league starter and SSF viable, or will it start to fall off quickly without the right gear? Is the inpulsa/explody chest only for corpse destruction? If so, would a different chest + a pyre ring be better? Is there a sweet spot for the number of golems you want, or is more always better? For example would the anima stone just replace the primordial chain or would you recommend both? And lastly is there a good method to craft wands for this build?

    Thanks for the guide! Wanders are a favorite of mine but lately have gotten too expensive for my budget, so excited to try this one out!

    The chest is for the corpse destruction correct but also clear speed increase, you can use “Cremator” notable from a cluster jewel but it won’t give you the chain-reaction clear speed that the chests would provide.

    I wouldn’t recommend both no, we use more golems to guarantee the uptime of our buffs provided by the golems as they will sometimes die (however they get automatically re-summoned thanks to the ascendancy).

    Best wand is crafted by fracturing +1 fire or spells and then fossil crafting the other modifier, and end with a trigger craft.
    This build is a very niche approach but I enjoyed playing it very much :)

    This build looks plenty fun so I was wondering if you are planning on updating it for 3.14 to account for the different changes? (Trigger nerf, Low life potential etc)

    Hey Ghazzy.
    I`m wondering if you could give me an idea on how to deal with the mana issue that this build has. I am currently struggling to attacks more than 3 times without having to stop for more than 5 seconds. And on top of that, I removed the mind over matter since that just exagerates the issue, specifically in Ultimatum fights. Any ideas?

    Just an update for everybody reading and facing a similar conundrum. I am stupid. Never spam attacks since this is a dot build (no sh*t sherlock). Also, chain functions 10 times better as a clearer, as ghazzy put in the mid-to-high section. Lastly, once I got an intuitive leap and put the 3 points attached to it, mana issues are gone.
    Learn from my mistakes, young padawans. Never doubt the Ghaz.

    Hello,

    I understand that we want the Stone Golem to lower enemy fire resistance via EE, hence the need for added cold/lightning damage in a jewel.
    Why choose such a sophisticated path instead of putting the Ice Golem into Malachai? My understanding is that since Ice Golem deals cold damage, that would proc EE without the need for the jewel. What am I missing?

    Hey,
    The stone golem provides HP regen and the Ice Golem gives us crit the other approach is that the Ice Golem deals 100% physical damage with the cyclone ability and deals cold with the barrange “suppressing fire” ability so some “attacks” won’t trigger EE without a jewel moving us back to the idea of using a jewel to guarantee it. Same goes for the Lightning Golem but is more likely to be casting its Arc ability over attacking which makes this a more reliable approach than the Ice Golem. However, I do prefer the buff provided by the Stone Golem but it can as you mention be changed for another choice but not the Ice Golem due to reliability!

    I dont see any of the skill tree links with EE in the tree, is there a more “final” version with EE in?

    The “finished skill tree” also is quite different from the video. Any suggestions for which is the better one to follow?

    EE is provided by the Malachai’s Artifice unique ring and not from the tree!
    Always follow the forum thread(s) of my guides since the video can in some cases turn outdated and due to the extensive amount of guides I have I will always recommend checking the written versions.
