Path of Exile: Synthesis brought players a spellcasting balance overhaul, which was rather well received by the community. Now, as previously mentioned by Grinding Gear Games, we await the melee overhaul Path of Exile 3.7.0 is said to carry.
While the spellcasting overhaul focused mostly on numbers, the melee one will go one step further:
A major part of the overhaul is focused on the numerical rebalance of most melee skills.
Citing players’ criticisms of a clunky-feeling early-game melee experience, Grinding Gear Games will work on better animations in order to “tighten up the feel of melee combat”.
The following combat system elements will also receive the overhaul treatment: accuracy, melee splash, leech, fortify, various Ascendancy classes, the passive tree, hit/miss feedback, melee base types, movement skills and melee damage availability on items.
Chris Wilson, Managing Director and Co-founder of Grinding Gear Games, states information is intentionally vague for the time being, as many of the changes are still experimental and many details have yet to be addressed.
