Introduction
The Lightning Spear Amazon build features an engaging two-button playstyle. Our Lightning Spear and
Storm Lance skill combo creates lightning explosions to destroy groups of enemies while mapping.
The Huntress is incredibly lethal and will help you fly through the endgame while making bosses easy. This class’s flow feels amazing and excels with high damage and enough defenses to take a hit through the endgame. The build can also be played in SSF (Solo Self Found).
Later on, you will transition into an ES/Evasion version of the build, which we are currently still working on and expect to have finished in a couple of days. We will add this to the guide also.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Insane starting damage with low investment
- Clear whole screen of monsters
- Mobile ranged play style
- No leech
- Damage ramp up
- Moderate survivability
Build Mechanics
Lightning Spear throws a single copy of your spear. When it hits an enemy it bursts, firing a secondary lightning bolt Projectile at multiple other enemies within a large area around it.
Storm Lance is our dedicated single target. We can have up to four active electrified spears at once. By utilizing Electrocution, we can also stun bosses.
Sniper’s Mark is our Frenzy Charge generator. Later we will automate Frenzy Charges to deal heavy burst damage on bosses.
Skill Rotations
Follow the basic skill rotation below to progress through the endgame.
Your main clear will be Lightning Spear. You’ll want to make sure you have Frenzy Charges and Volt Charges before you throw this skill.
Volt provides a massive amount of chain along with extra Lightning Damage. This makes it extremely important to only throw your
Lightning Spear after you have enough Volt. Make sure you have at least 20 charges before using
Lightning Spear. Volt Charges are gained by moving around.
- Check if you have any Frenzy charges, if not, use
Sniper’s Mark on any target.
- Throw
Lightning Spear; if your Frenzy Charges are not consumed, you can keep throwing
Lightning Spear as long as you have 20 Volt Charges. Ideally, you want the max of 30 Charges.
- If encountering a Rare or Boss, throw
Storm Lance and alternate with
Sniper’s Mark to maintain Frenzy Charges.
For Frenzy Charge sustain we have a few options:
Make sure you’re using Perpetual Charge on
Lightning Spear to help maintain charges.
Kitoko’s Current Gloves are a fantastic way for early Frenzy Charge Generation. They will allow your Lightning Damage to Electrocute which will make it so Combat Frenzy will give you Frenzy Charges.
An alternative to Kitoko’s Current Gloves would be using Neural Overload and
Electrocute on your
Herald of Thunder. This will make it so your
Herald of Thunder no longer shocks, but applies Electrocute. You would lose the benefits of stunning bosses due to not wearing the gloves, however, you gain the ability to wear rare gloves with the stats you need.

Ascendancy
Amazon is the recommended Ascendancy for the Lightning Spear Huntress. Select your first Ascendancy after completing the Trial of the Sekhemas in Act 2. The trial is not difficult, so complete it within the level range of 20-30. During the early access of Path of Exile 2, you have the option between Amazon and Ritualist, but for this build guide, we recommend going with Amazon.
Amazon Ascendancy Order
The Amazon is the best Ascendancy choice due to its extremely high Critical Strike Chance. Allocate the Ascendancy nodes in the following order:
- Accuracy and Critical Strike — This allows you to scale Critical Strike Chance through Accuracy stacking.
- Skill Speed and Predatory Instinct — This gives you a damage multiplier to Rares and Bosses.
- Elemental Damage and Elemental Infusion – This consumes your Frenzy Charges to give your spear throws bonus Elemental Damage.
- Accuracy and Penetrate — Please make sure you have at least 200 Accuracy Rating on your weapon before picking up your last ascendancy. This gives you bonus physical damage based on the accuracy rating of your weapon.
