Path of Exile 2 players recently uncovered a really handy setting for minion builds, and it could save your prized Spectres from getting thrown into the grinder by mistake.

Check out the original Reddit thread here:

Stop Sacrificing the Wrong Minion

Inside the Advanced Info panel of a minion skill, there is an option called “Exclude From Targeting.” If you toggle it on, that minion type will not get selected by your sacrifice or minion-targeting skills. So, if you run skeleton warriors alongside a Spectre, you can make sure the game always burns skeletons first and never sacrifices your Spectre.

Why This Is So Exciting for Minion Players

Players who run builds with multiple minion types often complained about accidentally losing Spectres. With this setting, you can prioritize which minions should be expendable and which should stay safe. As the Reddit post already sums up perfectly: “Thank god, no more sacrificing my Spectre before my skeleton warrior.”

A Strange Controller-Only Quirk?

The discovery has been welcomed by minion players, though there is some confusion. A few noted the setting only appears if you plug in a controller first, which feels odd. Players are also questioning the purpose of support gems with similar effects if the toggle exists. Still, for those who are using Sacrifice or Pain Offering, this option is a game-changer.
