PoE2 Patch 0.3.0 Drops August 29, Small Update Out Now

Grinding Gear Games has set the release date for Path of Exile 2’s next big update, Patch 0.3.0. It is officially coming on August 29, 2025 (PDT). The date is a little later than they originally hoped, but the devs say this is a big patch that needed extra time.

In the meantime, they also dropped a small patch last night to keep things running smoothly. Here is what you need to know.

Patch 0.3.0 Launches August 29

If you are new to Path of Exile 2, the devs shared a quick explanation of how updates work:

• Major content updates release every 4 months.
• Each update adds a new League, new bosses, new crafting systems, and more.
• The previous update, 0.2.0, launched in April 2025.
• That means the next patch, 0.3.0, will arrive on August 29, followed by another patch in December.

Leagues work just like in PoE1: you start fresh in a new economy, explore exclusive mechanics, and when the league ends, your characters and loot move to Standard.

GGG says we can expect the full 0.3.0 reveal about a week before launch. For now, they are calling it a big update that took a little extra development time this cycle.

Small Patch 0.2.1b Adds Supporter Pack Cosmetics

While waiting for 0.3.0, a small update just rolled out for the current version. Here is what Patch 0.2.1b added:

• Enabled several supporter pack cosmetics from PoE1: Secrets of the Atlas in Path of Exile 2:
  • Phrecian Magistrate and Cryptkeeper series
  • Watcher’s Wrath Armour Set
  • Archon of the Atlas Armour Set
  • Skull of Undeath, Syndicate’s Demise Finisher, Originator’s Portal Effect, and Rose Charges
• Fixed a rare instance crash

These supporter packs originally launched with Path of Exile: Secrets of the Atlas, the most recent major update for PoE1. Players who bought them there can now equip them in PoE2.

What Is Next?

The next few weeks should be quiet until the 0.3.0 reveal in late August. But with a big new League on the way and Early Access content still filling out, we can expect a lot more to explore once the patch lands.
