What Might Be Revealed?
While we currently have no specifics on exactly what this expansion will include, there are many things hinted at or found in datamined information from previous patches that may be coming with the upcoming expansion. Here are a few things that we are reasonably confident will be revealed during the livestream:
NOTE: These are my personal opinions, based solely on history, research, and feelings. None of this is guaranteed, nor has it been 100% confirmed by GGG.
Endgame Rework: GGG have explicitly stated that a major focus of this release will be reworking the endgame, with hints at completely reworked Atlas Passives, changes to the structure of how players interact with the endgame, and much more. This will almost certainly be the main feature of the stream, and one of the most highly requested changes from the community.
New Classes/Weapons: While no information has yet been released directly from GGG, we do know that the Druid took much longer than they anticipated, mostly due to the intensive design and animation work required for Shapeshifting to look, feel and play as well as it could. More familiar, simpler classes (Such as the Marauder or Duelist) probably take much less time, and we could see 1 or more classes added to the game, along with their signature weapons.
New Ascendancies: Even if we don’t see entirely new Classes in this expansion, it is almost certain that we will see some of the missing Ascendancies added to the game. Huntress, Ranger, Druid and Monk are all currently missing a third Ascendancy, and history tells us that adding at least a couple of additional Ascendancies each league is very likely
New League Mechanic: With each major patch for Path of Exile 2, GGG has added new or reimagined League Mechanics alongside the core game updates. In 0.4 Fate of the Vaal we saw a reimagining of the Alva Temple League mechanic from Path of Exile, and in 0.3 the Rise of the Abyssal added a reworked Abyss from Path of Exile. Will this expansion bring a retooled league from Path of Exile, or something wholly new?
According to GGG, this expansion is shaping up to be a massive update to the game, focused primarily on fixing many issues that the community has had since the games Early Access launch. With teaser season just starting, and the reveal stream less than 2 weeks away, are you ready to leap back into the world of Wraeclast to take on the forces of corruption again?
