The newest Path of Exile expansion 3.29 is upon us and launches today!
We’ve updated our guides here on PoE Vault to ensure that Exiles are well-prepared. In Path of Exile: Curse of the Allflame, you will discover sunken artefacts and battle the horrors of the deep. Meet Valerie, a dangerous corsair captain who needs your help retrieving long-forgotten treasures from the icy depths of Wraeclast’s oceans.
For new players who would like to try out Path of Exile, you can follow our “How to Start” guide. Path of Exile is not an easy game, but with our guide and Discord help, there is no reason not to try the game out and enjoy all the fun Wraeclast has to offer in this amazing ARPG from Grinding Gear Games.
You will be able to experience the new Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame League on July 24th at 1pm (PDT) for PC, Mac, and consoles.
The Curse of the Allflame Challenge League
Descend to the ocean floor, where lanterns powered by the Allflame will protect you from the powerful waves. Investigate and gather what you can while the opportunity exists. Hidden treasures, valuable chests, and potential dangers are present.
As the lanterns dim, you must quickly return to the safety of the Bathysphere to avoid the creatures that are drawn to the light.
This Path of Exile July expansion introduces the Curse of the Allflame League with the following:
- A New Challenge League
- Improvements to Abyss
- Improvements to Legion
- Return of Mercenaries of Trarthus

Recommended Builds for Curse of the Allflame League
We’d like to give you a few recommendations for what we believe to be some of the strongest league starter builds (although any build tagged as a League Starter and updated for 3.29 is a very solid choice).
Greek’s – Phase Run Pathfinder (Heist Only) is a Heist-only build. Speed! 100%? 200%? How about 600% Movement Speed? This Pathfinder Setup is all about defense and speed. This build is designed for clearing Contracts and Blueprints in Heist as fast as possible!
BalorMage’s – Poison Summon Raging Spirits Necromancer is going to be one of the best minion builds in Secrets of the Atlas; this build excels not only at clearing your maps but is also an excellent boss killer. With the new Atlas bosses, this build will not let you down and is described as the most OP minion build of the league.
BalorMage’s – Tornado Inquisitor is an easy build to get into. Tornadoes auto-target, and you play a very tanky character with a lot of recovery; you generally don’t need to worry about anything at all. Just run through the map, dropping tornadoes and blowing your enemies away!
BalorMage’s – Holy Relic Necromancer has been considered the most broken Minion build for years, yet it has escaped the nerf hammer. This build has abnormally high damage and full-screen clear coverage. It functions with a one-button playstyle and is an excellent league starter.
GhazzyTV’s – Spectre Summoner Necromancer has proven itself in every League. It gives you your own army of minions to do all the work for you! With good clear speed and consistent bossing damage, the build is perfect for both beginners and veterans alike and is a solid league starter choice.

POEGuy’s Explosive Arrow Ballista Hierophant is a versatile build that is also a great league starter – it can take you from nothing to T16 maps quickly and with minimal investment while not being a glass cannon. If you like a totem-based build that takes you from zero to hero in no time, this is a fantastic league starter.
PathofEvening’s – Toxic Rain Pathfinder is a fast-paced, smooth mapping league starter that can clear all content in the game, including Tier 17 maps and uber bosses. You unlock your primary skills in the first act of the campaign and will continue using them for the lifespan of the character.

PoEVault’s – Lacerate Gladiator is a build that was originally written and intended for newer players. It is simplified as much as possible to ensure a new player will have an easy time playing and putting the build together. We recommend it if you are a new player.
PoEVault’s – Cyclone Slayer offers incredible clear speed and an old overlapping style of scaling its damage to the point where it becomes an absolute powerhouse. For players who like to blast through the game on a budget and want a build that is expandable with an acceptable amount of currency and incredible returns, this is a one-of-a-kind build.
Lexyu’s – Winter Orb Occultist is a ranged spellcaster featuring Herald of Ice, a ranged spellcaster build that speed-farms maps with blazing-fast mobility and massive screen-wide explosions.
