The newest Path of Exile Mirage, 3.28, is upon us and launches March 6!
We’ve updated the guides on our sister site PoE Vault to ensure that Exiles are well-prepared. In Path of Exile: Mirage, you will take on a rogue sect of the Faridun as they sap the energies of captured Djinn for nefarious ends, and help a legendary Maraketh Sekhema put an end to an ancient war once and for all.
For new players who like to try out Path of Exile you can follow our “How to Start” guide. Path of Exile is not an easy game but with our guide and Discord help, there is no reason not to try the game out and enjoy all the fun Wraeclast has to offer in this amazing ARPG from Grinding Gear Games.
You will be able to experience the new Path of Exile Mirage League on March 6th (PST) for PC, Mac, and Consoles.
The Mirage Challenge League
In the Mirage Challenge League, players will come across the souls of Djinn that are trapped by the Afarud and will need to work on liberating them.
To release these souls, players must enter the Mirage the Djinn create, an imperfect replica of the surrounding area. They will have to battle monsters, navigate through astral hazards, and confront Afarud mages to reach the tether binding the Djinn. Upon freeing the Djinn, players will receive rewards.
This Path of Exile March expansion introduces the Mirage League with the following:
- A Fresh Challenge League
- Significant Endgame change
- Fractured Atlas
- Shaped Regions
- 40 Exceptional Support Gems
- New and Changed Unique Items
- New Skill & Support Gems

Recommended Builds for Mirage League
We’d like to give you a few recommendations of what we believe to be some of the strongest league starter builds (although any build tagged as a League Starter and updated for 3.28, is a very solid choice)
Greek’s – Sunder Ignite Elementalist is a very comfy mapper with a huge health pool. Since we are playing a DoT build I don’t suggest this as a boss farmer, but what it lacks in single target, it gains in clear.
Ky’s – Blight of Contagion Trickster is a top contender for the next 3.28 league and one of the strongest league starters. If you like playing a Dot build, then we highly recommend this build. It’s the fastest, smoothest and has the highest QoL clear speed that the game has to offer. In addition, as you will use a chaos Dot spell you can safely ignore a lot of map mods.
Ky’s – Volatile Dead Spellslinger Elementalist is a classic build that has come back into the spotlight as an incredibly strong and fun league-starter build. We use Frenzy, a wand attack skill, in combination with two Spellslinger Support setups to automatically cast our spells each time we attack with a wand. This makes for a smooth one-button playstyle mapping experience that fills your screen with heat-seeking orbs of fire.
BalorMage’s – Poison Summon Raging Spirits Necromancer is going to be one of the best minion builds of Secrets of Atlas, this build excels in not only clearing your maps, but also being an excellent boss killer. With the new Atlas bosses this build will not let you down and is described as the most OP minion build of the league.
BalorMage’s – Holy Relic Necromancer has been considered the most broken Minion build for years, yet it escaped the nerf hammer. This build has abnormally high damage and full-screen clear coverage. It functions as a one button play style and an excellent league starter.
GhazzyTV’s – Spectre Summoner Necromancer has proved itself every league. Having your own army of minions doing all the work for you! It gives good clear speed and consistent bossing damage, the build is perfect for both beginners and veterans alike and a solid league starter choice.

GhazzyTV’s – Dominating Blow Guardian is an insanely strong league-start ability offering a lot of variations for the end game. Thanks to the straightforward design of the ability, we can tweak this build into some pretty juicy defensive styles allowing it to be a solid first choice for starting a league in Hardcore as well!
GhazzyTV’s – Animate Weapon Chieftain is a very strong minion build that requires very few items to work well. Unlike most builds Animate Weapon plays very differently, offering a unique way of playing a form of summoner. This a very strong league starter on a budget.
POEGuy’s Siege Ballista Hierophant is a versatile build that is also a great league starter – it can take you from nothing to T16 maps quickly and with minimal investment while not being a glass cannon. If you like a totem-based build that takes you from zero to hero in no time, this is a fantastic league starter.
PathofEvening’s – Toxic Rain Pathfinder is a fast-paced, smooth mapping league starter that can clear all content in the game, including Tier 17 maps and uber bosses. You unlock your primary skills in the first act of the campaign and will continue using them for the lifespan of the character.
PathofEvening’s – Pyroclast Mine Saboteur is a simple, powerful league-start build. It deals tons of boss damage on a low budget, and the playstyle is extremely easy: throw mines at monsters, the mines explode automatically, and the monsters die.

PoEVault’s – Lacerate Gladiator is a build that is originally written, and intended, for newer players. It is simplified as much as we could, to ensure a new player would have an easy time playing and putting the build together. We recommend it if you are a new player.
PoEVault’s – Cyclone Slayer offers incredibly clear speed and an old overlapping style of scaling its damage to the point where it becomes an absolute powerhouse. For players who like to blast through the game on a budget and want a build that is expandable with an acceptable amount of currency and incredible returns, this is a one-of-a-kind build.
Lexyu’s – Cold Snap of Power Hierophant is a ranged spellcaster that excels at speed-farming maps with rapid mobility and massive screen-wide explosions. Damage and survivability is scaled by Mana stacking. With moderate investment, this build can also be effective at killing pinnacle bosses.
Lexyu’s – Shock Nova of Procession Hierophant is a self-cast build that excels at speed-farming maps with rapid mobility and massive repeating explosions. Damage and survivability is scaled by Mana stacking. With moderate investment, this build can also be effective at killing pinnacle bosses.
