Ky's Blight of Contagion Trickster Build Guide (Poe Secrets of the Atlas 3.26)

1. Introduction

Blight of Contagion got a massive ~40% more damage buff in 3.26 making it a top contender for being one of the strongest leaguestarters of this patch. While it may not compete with the raw single target dps of some other options it makes up for it in a massive way with one of the fastest, smoothest, and highest QOL clears the game has to offer.

In addition to this, as a chaos dot spell, it can safely ignore more map mods than any other architype in the game and circumvents many other barriers other architypes would have to invest into solutions for such as reflect, block, suppression, leech, and many more.

2. Build Overview

In this section I will go over the pros and cons of the build so you can decide for yourself if this is the right build for you.

Pros

+ Buttery smooth gameplay
+ Insane Clearspeed, near unrivaled clear for every mechanic in the game
+ Immune to most map mods & monster mods
+ Tanky

Cons

– Single Target – Reaches 10m dps single target on a medium budget but pushing far beyond that is expensive. Can easily complete Ubers due to tankiness, but not built to speed farm that content.

Playstyle

Press Contagion then press Blight of Contagion. Watch as your entire screen melts away. Put down your Wither that is linked to Spell Totem Support to apply a powerful debuff to bosses, and cast Bane to apply your curses for bosses aswell.

Leveling

If you are in a league start scenario and this is your first character I highly recommend first creating a witch this character will be a “mule” for a few early starting gems.
All you have to do is defeat hillock on the beach and make it to town, it only takes under 2 minutes and you will more than recoup that time by doing this for your shadow since our starter options are not great.

Defeat hillock then grab the Blight gem from Tarkleigh.
From Nessa check for a +1 Spell Skills or +1 Chaos Spell Skills wand. If you don’t see any a second choice could be a 3 link wand that is either Blue-Blue-Blue or Blue-Blue-Green.
Purchase a second copy of the Arcane Surge Support from Nessa and stash all gems and your starting wand ( Other gear can be vendored or kept as you see fit. )

Now after entering town on your shadow you can purchase a second wand if need be and start the game off with Blight linked to Arcane Surge Support followed by Infused Channelling Support after you defeat Hailrake in the Tidal Island.

Once you can aquire Shield Charge you’ll want to link it with Faster Attacks Support and preferably a third level 1 Arcane Surge Support then equip a shield.
This in combination with Frostblink will make your leveling experience much much faster.
