With the upcoming Legacy of Phrecia Event just days away, GGG have released a News Post with a huge number of changes to the Ascendancies, along with a full list of random Area Modifiers that will be disabled for the event. If you’ve been waiting to start planning your own build, or to check if your build will be negatively impacted by the event, then the information you’ve been looking for is finally here!

Random Area Modifiers Excluded from Pool

During the Legacy of Phrecia event, every area you enter (in both the Campaign and End-game) will be affected by a random number of Map Modifiers. This will make the overall experience a little more challenging due to the random nature of Map Modifiers. Many builds struggle to deal with specific Modifiers, but GGG has specifically removed a large number from the pool to try and avoid “bricking” areas for specific builds with these random Modifiers. Here is the list of Modifiers they have removed from the pool:

  • Reflect
  • Ground Effect Modifiers, such as Shocked or Burning ground (for functional reasons)
  • Less Recovery Rate
  • No Regeneration
  • Twinned Bosses (for functional reasons)
  • Leech Immune
  • Monster Ailment Avoidance
  • Reduced Aura Effect
  • Less AOE
  • Reduced Flask Charges Gained
  • Less Evasion
  • Less Armour and Reduced Block Chance
  • Buffs on Players Expire Faster
  • Players have reduced Accuracy

Ascendancy Rebalance – Who Won and Who Lost?

GGG has taken a very “Fun First” approach to the balance pass on Ascendancies for this event, focusing on buffing almost every Ascendancy across the board. While a few received some nerfs to specific, highly used Ascendancy Nodes from the first Phrecia Event, that is the exception not the rule. Here are a couple of highlights:

Ancestral Commander

A very popular Ascendancy in the first event, they have opted to lower the power of the incredibly strong “Ancestral Endurance” and “Ancestral Defiance” nodes by 33%. They have, however, buffed several other nodes to compensate.

Behemoth

The Rampager node that had “Your Spells are Disabled” has been changed to “Your Aura Skills are Disabled” and “Your Warcries are Disabled”. This is a BIG change, allowing for a lot more flexibility for making builds on this Ascendancy. Several other nodes were also buffed.

Polytheist

Every Devout node, except Devout of Ryslatha, gained additional effects. This Ascendancy saw one of the lowest play rates in the original Phrecia Event, so perhaps these buffs will see more players experimenting with it.

If you want to find the specifics for your Ascendancy of choice, you can check out the News Post here.

Overall the Legacy of Phrecia event is shaping up to be an absolute blast, with increased player power, more challenges to overcome, and some free MTX’s to earn.
