Legacy of Phrecia Returns to Path of Exile!

Grinding Gear Games has recently announced in This Forum Post the return of the much-loved Legacy of Phrecia Mid-League Event. 19 Entirely different Ascendancy Classes, the Idol Mechanic and a Fresh Economy to play in lead to an excellent new experience. If you have been looking for a new challenge to take on or an excuse to try out some new builds, The Legacy of Phrecia event begins on January 29th at 1 PM PST.

What is Legacy of Phrecia?

The Legacy of Phrecia Event provides a dramatic shakeup to the established meta of Path of Exile. Essentially, it is a relaunch of the existing league, Keepers of the Flame, with a fresh economy and multiple changes to make the event feel like an entirely different game. Here are some of the hallmarks of the event:

• All of the normal Ascendancy Classes are removed and replaced with entirely different Ascendancies.
• The Atlas Passive Tree is removed and replaced with the Idol system.
• It takes place on a separate and fresh economy, isolated from both Standard and the existing League, in this case, Keepers of the Flame.
• There are free Mystery Boxes you can earn by reaching Level 50 and Level 90 at any point during the event.
• Some additional twists or modifiers that further alter the game state.
  • Teased information includes additional modifiers to each zone you enter, Bosses with new Mechanics in the Campaign and in the Endgame, and all Unique Monsters Enraging at low life.

Alternative Ascendancies

During the event, you will be unable to Ascend as any of the normally available Ascendancies. You will instead be offered fresh, new choices that open up entirely different build opportunities. We currently don’t have solid information on what changes will be made to the Original Legacy of Phrecia Ascendancies, but you can check out what was available during the Last Legacy of Phrecia Event here.

• Start Date: 1PM January 29th PST
• End Date: 1PM February 19th PST
• Based on: Keepers of the Flame League
• Platforms: PC and Consoles
• Standard and Hardcore Solo Self-Found versions available.
• This event is not voided. Items and characters will transfer to parent leagues at the end of the event. Upon migration, your characters’ Ascendancy points will be refunded and you’ll be assigned one of the core Ascendancy classes.
