Path of Exile 2 Preload Now Live – File Size & Download Details

With the launch of Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt happening later today, you can now pre-download the game files across PC and console to make sure you are ready as soon as the servers go live.

Here is everything you need to know about the file size, preloading methods, and how much time you will have before the patch goes live.

Patch File Size on PC and Console

• PC (Steam & Standalone Client): ~31 GB
• Consoles (PS5 / Xbox Series X|S): ~27 GB

Console players can start pre-downloading the patch immediately. PC users will be able to start updating their client closer to launch.

Preload Start Time on PC

Patching will begin approximately 2 hours before launch for both the standalone client and Steam. This is your window to install the update before servers go live.

Optional Torrent Download for Standalone PC Users

If you are using the standalone Path of Exile client, Grinding Gear Games has also provided a GGPK torrent file to help you preload early. This file includes all the game content and is only compatible with the standalone version (not Steam or Epic).

Important: This torrent is significantly larger, as it includes existing content as well. Use it only if you want to fully preload the client ahead of time.

Get Ready for Launch

Make sure your game is updated ahead of time, especially if you are looking to jump into the new league the second it launches. If you run into any issues with downloading or patching, be sure to verify your game files via your launcher!
