Path of Exile 2 is getting another big gem update. With the Last of the Druids patch on December 12, Grinding Gear Games is adding more than 35 new Support Gems, several new Lineage Supports, and a long list of reworks. Many of the new gems showed up in the Druid reveal stream, and they already open up a lot of build options for launch week.
If you want a full breakdown of everything coming with patch 0.4.0, you can also check out our Last of the Druids Overview, where we cover all new systems, league mechanics, and endgame updates.
The Most Interesting New Supports from Patch 0.4.0
These are the confirmed new Support Gems shown during the reveal stream or mentioned directly by GGG. They stood out the most for build potential.
Accelerated Growth
Creates explosive plant growth. Works well with rain and nature setups.

Tectonic Slam Support
Adds cascading slams to melee attacks. A great fit for Bear Form and other slam builds.

Fan the Flames
Spreads fire damage between ignited enemies. A big buff for ignite builds.
Advancing Storm
Makes storm-type spells move forward instead of remaining stationary.
Echoing Cry

Repeats Warcries after a short delay. Very strong for Warcry builds and Druid charge setups.
Grounding Shocks
Makes shocked enemies pulse lightning arcs like a Tesla coil.
Spell Totem (Meta Gem)
Lets totems cast any spell you socket. Costs Power or Endurance Charges, which the Druid generates naturally. Opens up a lot of hybrid spell-melee setups.
GGG confirmed that the total batch is more than 35 new Supports, though not all names were listed in the patch notes. The livestream also showed several new supports and skills around breath attacks, storm setups, Warcries, and Mark interactions.
How These New Support Gems Change Your Build Options
PoE2’s gem system is more focused than PoE1, so each new Support Gem has a noticeable impact. The new set touches almost every playstyle:
- Better transform-focused gems for Druids
- Stronger Rage scaling for spells and melee
- New options for storm mobility
- Improved ignite and poison scaling
- More supportive tools for nature, plant, and “rain/water” builds
- Stronger Warcry consistency
- Expanded Lineage Supports for all classes
Even without the full list of names, players have enough new tools to experiment with multiple builds on day one.
