Introduction
Stampede Titan is an incredibly powerful and budget-friendly build. The build stomps all over packs of enemies and bosses alike. It breaks enemies’ armour, sets them on fire, and makes them explode on death. These effects let you embody the power fantasy of being a huge, hulking Warrior that overpowers its enemies!
Titan is one of the strongest Ascendancies in Path of Exile 2, granting enormous offensive power and increasing the effects of all small passive bonuses in the tree by 50%! The armour scaling on this build is incredible, with over 250% of armour applying to elemental damage.
In addition to all this player power, the build is also easy to play and gear. It requires no unique items, and you can use a one-button playstyle to clear maps. Point
Stampede at packs of enemies, and everything will die.
For bossing, you use a small combo with
Forge Hammer to enhance the damage of
Stampede and quickly build up Heavy Stun, allowing you to finish them with
Hammer of the Gods!
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Incredible map clear.
- Feels extremely strong – great power fantasy.
- Easy to gear.
- Tons of armour.
- Melee build, susceptible to ground effects.
- Some combos required on bosses.
- Not as fast as Ranger builds.
Build Mechanics
Armour Break
The notable passive Shattering Blow causes Heavy Stunning enemies to break 50% of their armour, and effects that scale Armour Break apply to this bonus. Casting
Stampede at packs of enemies will Heavy Stun them and break their armour, triggering the support gem
Armour Explosion. This chain reaction of explosions combines with
Herald of Ash to blow up screens full of enemies.
Breaking an enemy’s armour makes them take 20% increased physical damage. You can increase the Broken Armour bonus to 23% with the notable passive The Molten One’s Gift, which makes it apply to fire damage, as well. The build uses a combination of physical and fire damage, so this effect is a major damage increase.
Aftershocks
Titans get a 25% chance for all of their Slam skills to cause an aftershock, dealing the same damage a second time after a one-second delay. With bonuses from the tree and
Aftershock II, you can bring your Aftershock chance for your slams up to 87%.
Stampede gets another 20% aftershock chance from its quality bonus, allowing it to guarantee an aftershock with every cast and effectively doubling the damage of your primary skill!
Ancestrally Boosted Slams
The Titan Ascendancy Skill Ancestral Empowerment causes every second slam skill you cast to be ancestrally boosted. Ancestrally boosted slams deal 30% more damage and have 25% increased area of effect. They also create a bunch of green spikes!

You can increase this damage bonus even further by socketing
Fist of War III into all of your main slam skills.
Fist of War III doubles the ancestral boost effect, granting 60% more damage and 50% increased AoE, but it has a 14-second cooldown. Ancestral Empowerment overrides the cooldown, giving humongous damage and area bonus on every other
Stampede cast!
Armour Applies to Elemental Damage
Titan is the best ascendancy in the game for scaling Armour Applies to Elemental Damage, and you can get upwards of 250% contribution with relative ease. When combined with 20,000+ armour and 3000 life, you are incredibly tanky in all situations. Elemental damage bounces right off your thick skin.

Skill Rotation
Mapping
Cast
Stampede at packs of enemies. You stomp on them, then they die. Monsters also explode on death thanks to the combination of
Armour Explosion and
Herald of Ash!
Bossing
Taking down bosses requires a combo:
- Throw
Forge Hammer at the boss. - Cast
Infernal Cry to detonate
Forge Hammer and make it create fissures. - Cast
Stampede until the boss is stunned to make the fissures flare up, or repeat the previous two steps if
Forge Hammer expires and the boss is not stunned yet. - Once the boss is stunned, cast
Hammer of the Gods immediately followed by
Sunder to demolish its health bar. - Repeat the full combo as needed.
Gameplay Tips
- Chaos damage is this build’s biggest weakness, and you can solve it by finding more Chaos Resistance on armour and rings.
- A good Two-Handed Mace is the most important piece of gear for this build.
- Adding physical and fire damage with your gloves and rings will significantly increase your damage.
- Using Blood Magic solves mana, but you will want Life Leech on one of your rings and a 2% Life on Kill jewel in your passive tree to help deal with the life cost of casting all of your skills.
- Life regeneration also helps with this issue!
- You can use
Holy Descent instead of
Momentum in your
Stampede setup for more life regeneration, but it is a big damage loss.
Skill Gems, Support Gems, and Spirit Gems
Because
Stampede is your primary clearing skill and a major part of your boss rotation, it should be your top priority to level up and 6-link.
The rest of your skills are all important for killing bosses, but you use them all together. Leveling them up and 6-linking them is a high priority, and you should try to power them up equally.
If you don’t yet have the budget to afford
Rakiata’s Flow for
Forge Hammer, use
Fire Penetration II instead.
Ascendancy
Titan grants huge bonuses to damage and tankiness.
We recommend taking Ascendancy Notables in the following order:
- Colossal Capacity – Grants 20 extra storage slots. Useful for holding maps, but it’s just here to balance out the next passive.
- Hulking Form – Increases the value of ALL small passive bonuses throughout the tree. Arguably the strongest Ascendancy bonus in the entire game.
- Earthbreaker – 25% aftershock chance means ~25% more damage with all of your slams.
- Ancestral Empowerment – Every other slam is empowered, overriding the 14-second cooldown on Fist of War III! This is another enormous offensive bonus.
Passive Skill Tree
Allocate all of your travel nodes in the tree into Strength. Pretty easy, right?
Focus on bonuses that increase your damage with maces and slams, grant Rage, and make Armour Apply to Elemental Damage.
Gearing
Amulet Anoint Options
- Acceleration is the best option available.

Uniques
This build does not require any unique items, making it cheap to gear and easy to play in Solo Self-Found game modes.
Here are a couple of unique items you can consider using:
Ryslatha’s Coil – This belt can massively increase your physical damage, which is important for this build. You want the largest possible maximum damage roll and the lowest possible minimum damage roll.
Headhunter – Steals rare monster modifiers on kill. It’s fun and good for blasting maps, but it’s not necessary at all.
Jewels
Using a Time-Lost Ruby with “Notable Passive Skills in Radius Also Grant Gain 1 Rage on Melee Hit” in the socket near The Molten One’s Gift is extremely helpful for maintaining Rage while mapping and fighting bosses. You can get other bonuses on Time-Lost Rubies, such as “25% Increased Effect of Notable Passive Skills in Radius,” to really increase the value of the bonuses in that part of the tree.
A From Nothing jewel that allows you to allocate bonuses in the radius of Vaal Pact will let you take the bonuses Light on Your Feet and Momentum. Getting these two passive skills will significantly improve your mobility in maps!
Acquiring a
Heart of the Well jewel with “% Damage as Extra Fire Damage” and “% Increased Skill Speed” is a great source of added damage.
Runes and Socketables
Greater Iron Rune is the best option for your weapon and all armour slots other than gloves.
Idol of Sirrius is your best damage option for gloves, but if it is too expensive, you can use The Greatwolf’s Rune of Claws instead.
Flasks and Charms
The recommended flasks and charm setup is as follows:
- Life Flask
- Olroth’s Resolve is the best life flask in the game. It’s simple, heals instantly, and grants a large shield based on any overhealing.
- Mana Flask
- Not necessary!
- Charms
For Utopia is a very powerful Stone Charm for any armour-based build.- Silver Charm helps with mitigating slow effects.
- Thawing Charm will make you immune to freeze.

Here are our recommendations for permanent character bonus options throughout the campaign:
- Act 2: 30% Increased Charm Charges
- Act 3: 25% Increased Stun Threshold
- Act 4: 5% to each Elemental Resistance
- Interlude 2: 15% Increased Global Defences
