GGG just released Patch 3.27.0b for PoE 1’s Keepers of the Flame League, and it contains some unexpected changes. The gaming studio’s initial plan for this hotfix looked good, but the result is even better than expected.
Breach Hives Are Now Easier

The biggest issue with Breach encounters is that monsters can kill Ailith too easily. Her skills are powerful, but they’re randomly chosen. A bad combination of skills can result in failure, especially in Hive Fortress encounters.
GGG chose to fix this in four separate ways:
- Ranged monsters now move closer to Ailith.
- Ailith creates skills more frequently in Hive Fortresses.
- Failing a Hive or Hive Fortress now rewards gear for all of the monsters killed, but no Graftblood or Wombgifts.
- Breach and Blight monsters can no longer have the Soul Eater modifier.
These changes are all great news, especially for melee players who struggled to run around hunting down monsters that were sniping Ailith from offscreen. Additionally, the removal of Soul Eater from Breach was a much-requested change since Keepers League launched, but didn’t appear in the original list of planned adjustments. Thankfully, GGG snuck that change in right on time.
Blight was another mechanic that got absolutely punished by Soul Eater, and it received the same buff as Breach. This is a fantastic buff for Blight enjoyers!
But Wait, There’s More!
Asynchronous trade is one of the best features GGG has ever brought to Path of Exile, but Captured Beasts were not usable with it at the Keepers League launch. Despite initially indicating that manual trading was intended for beasts, GGG decided to make them work with asynchronous trading tabs in this hotfix.
