Path of Exile 2’s Patch 0.2.0g just went live earlier today, and the reaction from the community is overwhelmingly positive so far. After weeks of complaints about stingy drops, frustrating progression, and overtuned difficulty, this update seems to be exactly what the game needed.
Here is what changed:
- Loot drops massively improved: Players are finding 5–7 Exalts in a single map, and even Hardcore SSF players report that maps feel rewarding again.
- Corrupted Nexus progression is now smoother, with less punishing corruption early on.
- Expeditions and Simulacrums were rebalanced to feel more manageable and more rewarding.
- General gameplay now has better pacing overall; more loot means more crafting, more gear, and less frustration.
Curious why Patch 0.2.0g did not release yesterday as originally expected? We covered the temporary rollback and what happened behind the scenes in this earlier update.
Player Reaction: “We’re So Back”
The PoE2 Reddit is flooded with loot showcase posts and glowing feedback from across the board:
- Hardcore and SSF players finally feel like they can engage with crafting and build progression.
- Many say the game is still hard, but now it actually feels rewarding.
- Even Expedition Wisps feel worth doing.
One player wrote: “Ran one map before work, got 6 Exalts, 2 Vaal Orbs, 1 Divine. Patch good.“
Another added: “The gold and tiered items are hitting especially fast. Thank you.“
Crafting Still Lags Behind
Even though loot buffs are a win, crafting is still lacking. Players are happy to see more currency, but the majority feel forced into trade because crafting lacks control and reliability:
- Mod targeting is almost nonexistent
- Too easy to ruin good bases
- Bench options are too limited for SSF
Some exiles (aka players) are hopeful that better drops will at least allow more experimentation.
Concerns? Sure, But They Are Small
A few players worry that inflation might spiral out of control, but most agree it is better than the alternative. As one Redditor put it: “There is no ‘too much loot’. Loot is the game.”
Some SSF players say it is still tough without trade, and there are calls for crafting improvements and less clicking on single splinters and transmutes. But overall? Things are looking up.
This Feels Like the Real Launch of the League
Patch 0.2.0g feels like the reset the league needed. Player reviews are already turning more positive, and if GGG can avoid another overcorrection, the momentum might stick.
