In case you missed it: A few days ago, Grinding Gear pushed out a new Path of Exile 2 update, Patch 0.3.0c, and it is quite a chunky one. The notes cover everything from sprint improvements to long-requested quality-of-life upgrades, along with a heap of bug fixes. So, let’s go over a few highlights below.
Sprint Feels Better
Sprint got some much-needed love. A short grace period now prevents you from eating a heavy stun the moment you start sprinting, which should make the skill feel much better and safer to use. The minimum sprint duration has also been slightly increased, so you can rely on it more consistently.
Monster and Boss Adjustments
Plenty of monsters and bosses saw changes this time around:
- Ground effects from Infested Cadavers and Blackblooded Proboscites now deal half as much damage.
- Zelina, Blood Priestess no longer heals from minion hits.
- Act 4 monsters like Sorcerers near Torvian are easier to read thanks to new visual cues, and many of them can now be raised as Spectres.
- Benedictus’ boss fight got performance and visual updates, and Vessel of Kulemak’s cold beams were fixed up for co-op clarity.
These are small changes on paper, but they should make some of the spikier campaign fights a lot less frustrating.
Gameplay and Item Fixes
A bunch of mechanics have also been cleaned up:
- Crossbows now handle ammo-saving correctly, rolling per ammo spent instead of per attack.
Volcanic Fissure‘s limit is now displayed and moddable.
Toxic Domain now requires a bow, spear, or crossbow.
- Fairgraves’ Curse, the Unique Bow, can be found again.
There are also fixes for skill scaling, totem interactions, and even the long-annoying bug where you could revive mid-skill with stolen abilities.
Quality of Life Changes
Some of the smaller but welcome updates include:
- A new character screen button to log directly into your hideout or town instead of your last zone.
- Better stash navigation for controller players.
- Quest turn-ins are less fussy, with “Hostile Takeover” now completing in any hideout.
- Cosmetic panels have been reorganized, with dodge roll and level-up effects separated into their own tabs.
They even removed Boulder Ants as Spectres, so you will not accidentally summon useless bugs anymore.
Bug Fixes and Stability
The patch also addressed a wide range of bugs:
- Core mechanics like sprint, crossbows, and leech scaling have been fixed.
- Several skills now properly scale with area damage or supports.
- Multiple crashes, controller issues, and campaign progression bugs have been resolved.
- Xbox players also get an audio fix, though PlayStation is still waiting on theirs.
Overall, this patch is less about flashy new content and more about sanding down the rough edges. Sprint feels cleaner, boss fights are clearer, and the mountain of bug fixes should make the campaign feel much better for everyone. If GGG can keep up this pace, Path of Exile 2 will only get more comfortable to play as the weeks roll on.
