PoE2 Hotfix Almost Doubles FPS for Some Players

Grinding Gear Games just pushed another hotfix for Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0c, and this one comes with some noticeable improvements. Rare monster auras and Abyss effects got optimized, which, for some players, almost doubled their FPS in those areas. Running maps also feels better overall, with shader data now preloading before you enter – meaning longer load times, but fewer stutters once inside.

Bug Fixes (and Broken Exploits)

A few long-standing issues were finally addressed:

• Crossbow reload bug fixed (no more jamming or input delays).
• Lightning Spear no longer chains incorrectly.
• Weapon-locked item snapshotting bug fixed, which means certain builds abusing it (like Widowhail setups) are now dead.
• Several client and instance crashes resolved.

Not everything made it in, though. Problems like the Blackcrow boss bug, Omen not triggering on death, and Blasphemy curses still resetting every zone remain on the community’s “please fix” list.

What Players Are Noticing

Over on Reddit, as well as the official Forusm, players are reporting big FPS boosts after the patch, especially near Abyss events. Some are especially glad to see the crossbow issue finally resolved, but a few still notice inconsistencies. On the downside, console performance (especially PS5) is still choppy, and Nvidia driver issues continue to cause headaches.

For now, this hotfix shows real progress – performance is much better, some long-standing bugs are gone, and PoE2 feels a bit smoother overall. Just do not expect every issue to be solved yet.
