Trading in Path of Exile has always been… a thing. Most players are used to flipping between the game and a browser, messaging sellers manually, and hoping someone is online. That whole system is finally getting a huge upgrade with Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict.

The big change? You can now search and buy items inside the game – even from players who are offline.

Browse, Buy, Done – All In-Game

Grinding Gear Games has launched a proper in-game market browser. You just open it up, search for the item you want, apply filters if needed, and hit buy. This teleports you straight into the seller’s hideout, where you can complete the purchase instantly.

The seller does not need to be online.

You do not need a third-party site.

And you do not need to spam trade whispers.

It is the most accessible version of PoE trading yet.

Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict will finally bring in-game trading to the game with Patch 0.3.0
Open the in-game Market Panel, find your item, teleport to the Seller’s hideout, and buy it.

How It Works: The Merchant’s Tab

To use the system, sellers need a special stash tab called the Merchant’s Tab. You can buy it from the in-game store (40 points for one tab, or 200 points for a six-pack), or convert existing Premium Tabs via your account settings, as long as you bought them before patch 0.3.0 drops on August 29.

  • Buyers pay a small Gold fee per purchase
  • Sellers list items with individual prices
  • There is no listing fee or seller cost
  • Currency items cannot be traded this way

If you want to collect your Gold, just talk to Ange in your hideout. Sold items are stored in a remove-only earnings tab.

FAQ and Other Details

  • The system launches with patch 0.3.0 on August 29
  • Merchant Tabs are not usable in SSF or for currency trading
  • Premium Quad Tabs cannot be converted
  • You can still trade the old-fashioned way if you prefer

The devs know this is just the first version of the system, so they are asking for feedback to make it better over time. But even at launch, this is a massive quality-of-life upgrade for PoE2, and a long-requested feature that is finally arriving.
