Path of Exile 2 players love pushing the endgame to its limits, and the latest talk is all about “juicing” maps. A recent Reddit post by D4ng3rd4n condenses Scorpius’s popular YouTube guide into an easy-to-follow text checklist. The promise, if done correctly, is that this strategy can make more than one Divine Orb per map.
But pulling it off takes planning, currency, and a strong build. It also only makes sense on Tier 15 maps or higher, because lower tiers are simply not worth the effort.
How Map Juicing Works
Start with a white Tier 15 map and roll it up to five modifiers using Augments, Regals, and Exalts. Stop there, because the sixth slot will get replaced anyway. From there, players add rarity with an Omen of Chaotic Rarity, though it is expensive (around 21 Exalts each) and usually only used if the map’s base rarity is below 60%. After that, desecrate the map using a Preserved Vertebrae, then take it to the Well of Souls to unlock the new modifier.

The goal is to land valuable effects like Overrun by Abyssals or increased item rarity. Liquid Emotions, such as Paranoia for more rare monsters or Guilt for higher pack size, stack even more juice on top. You can use up to three per map, but they also make things harder, so watch your build’s limits. Some players also use a Vaal Orb to corrupt the map. It is a gamble; it might downgrade, upgrade to Tier 16, or reroll the mods entirely.
The final stage is all about Atlas management. Maps overlapping with two or three towers get boosted multiple times, and you always want to use your 6-mod maps inside towers. Stacking tablets is where the profit spikes, with Breach, Ritual, and Irradiated tablets being the usual go-tos. Advanced setups even use unique tablets like Visions of Paradise or The Grand Project for reruns.
Easy to Read Step-by-Step
- Roll a white Tier 15 map to five mods (Augments, Regals, Exalts).
- Add rarity with an Omen of Chaotic Rarity if under 60% rarity.
- Desecrate with Preserved Vertebrae and unveil the mod at the Well of Souls.
- Aim for Overrun by Abyssals or high item rarity.
- Apply up to three Liquid Emotions (Paranoia, Guilt, etc).
- Optionally Vaal Orb the map for a Tier 16 gamble.
- In your Atlas, run 6-mod maps in overlapping towers and stack Breach, Ritual, Irradiated tablets. Advanced players use Visions of Paradise or The Grand Project.
Mods Worth Chasing
Some of the best outcomes include:
- Overrun by Abyssals (14–18 pits, sells for 1–2 Divines)
- 50%+ item rarity
- Union modifier (50% more rare monsters)
- Pack size boosts from things like Guilt or Grasping Vine
Players Are Split
Not everyone is convinced this strategy is worth the hassle. One of the big complaints is that Chaotic Rarity can roll “% less life regen,” which wrecks builds like Bloodmage. The other issue is how quickly orbs, tablets, and time add up against your gains.
As one player put it, “Juicing up maps costs a lot … you gotta invest into the tablets and pray that you will get out more than you invested.” Another joked that it feels like doing homework instead of playing a game.
If you enjoy complex strategies and squeezing every last drop out of your Atlas, juicing maps might be the most rewarding way to play right now. But if you just want to blast through maps, sticking to simple rolls will probably feel way better for both your stash and your sanity.
