Path of Exile 2’s campaign has been one of the best parts of early access so far. But as always with ARPGs, the question eventually pops up: what about alts? Do we really want to run the story again and again, or should Grinding Gear Games offer some kind of campaign skip?
That exact debate blew up on Reddit just now, and players already had a lot of ideas.
The “Campaign Skip” Compromise
The most popular compromise is to carry rewards across your account. If you already cleared side quests for passive points or resistances, your alts should get them too. A bit like how Lab Trials worked in PoE1 – do it once and never again.
Other suggestions included:
- Boss-gated bonuses: Beat the act boss on your main, your alts unlock all that act’s quest rewards.
- Campaign once per league: Finish it once, then send alts straight to maps.
- Adventure-style mode: An alternate leveling path with shorter runs, like Diablo 3’s Adventure Mode.
- Streamlining: Reduce dead ends, shrink some zones, and make optional content actually optional.
Not Everyone Agrees With Skipping
A lot of players say the campaign should stay as it is. The argument is that skipping too much removes the sense of progression, and rushing to endgame could even mess with the economy. A few also argue that grinding through the campaign is part of what makes PoE feel like PoE.

That Is Where It Gets Interesting
Right now, the campaign is one of the best parts of PoE2. The bosses, the pacing, and the variety all make it a real highlight. Which brings up the question: if the campaign is actually fun, do we even need to skip it? Maybe the real answer is not a full skip, but just making alts less painful to level.
Either way, the community is rather fired up about it, and this is definitely not the last time the discussion will come up.
