Act 4 in Path of Exile 2 is getting a lot of talk on Reddit right now. Players are calling it the best act so far, and a few even say it feels like a full ARPG on its own.
Here is the original thread if you want to take a look:
So what makes Act 4 stand out this much?
Zone Design That Feels Next Level
Players were surprised by just how immersive the zones feel. The Flooded Prison was singled out as one of the best ARPG areas ever made, thanks to its changing tides, atmosphere, and cinematic presentation.
“The act made me forget I was playing Path of Exile,” wrote one player, comparing it to a single-player RPG.
The non-linear island setup kept exploration feeling fresh, even when running through it again. A few players thought the boat rides and tunnel sections got a little repetitive, but overall, Act 4’s zones came across as more detailed and alive than anything the game has done before.
Boss Fights That Stand Out
Act 4 Boss Encounters like the Siren, Wukong, Anastras, and the chaotic Sharknado fight were player favorites.
- Bosses asked players to learn mechanics instead of relying only on DPS.
- A few fights had too many invulnerability phases, which dragged things out.
Small details also stood out, like fights where you can use the environment to break buffs. Discovering tricks like that gave players who experimented a real sense of payoff.
Voice Acting That Adds Personality
Another big highlight was the voice acting. Exiles (player characters) now speak during quests, trade banter with NPCs, and show more personality than ever before.
The Witch, in particular, got a lot of love for her sharp, witty lines. A few players admitted it was the first time they slowed down and actually listened to optional dialogue in Path of Exile.
Pacing And Replay Value
On a first playthrough, most described Act 4 as “cinematic” and “incredible.” But when it comes to alts and league play, there are some worries. The act is long, with plenty of loading screens, and a few suggested trimming about 20–30% to keep the pacing tighter for repeat runs.

A New Standard For PoE2
Even with those pacing concerns, Act 4 is already being ranked as the best act so far. Most players (from the ones that are active on Reddit, that is) list the campaign order as:
4 > 1 > 2 > 3
Between the strong world-building, memorable bosses, and excellent voice acting, Act 4 has raised expectations for what Acts 5 and 6 will deliver.
For now, the community seems to agree on one thing: Act 4 does not just feel like another chapter of Path of Exile 2, but more like a love letter to ARPGs.
