PoE2’s Campaign May Be 20+ Hours Long And Players Already Want a Skip

PoE2's campaign might take 20+ hours. Fans love it once, but say it is too long to repeat every league — calls for a skip are rising.

Path of Exile 2’s campaign is getting a lot of compliments for its story and visuals, but players are already worried about running it again every league. On Reddit, Act 4 is being called one of the best ARPG acts ever, but the same thread also points out pacing and replayability concerns.

You can check out the full discussion here:

Act 4 Is Amazing… But Long

Players say Act 4 alone can take 6–8 hours, with a full campaign run sitting around 20–25 hours on your first playthrough. Even veterans are still looking at 13–17 hours just to reach the Interludes. Acts 2–4 are often called out as dragging on with big maps and slower pacing, while Act 1 is mostly complimented for being compact and punchy.

The concern is that the campaign already feels too long to repeat, and that is before Acts 5 and 6 even arrive. If those add another 10–20 hours, a lot of players expect to only run one character per league instead of experimenting with alts.

Replayability Concerns

The first run is not the problem – most agree it is great the first time through. The issue is having to redo it every league. Suggestions from the thread include:

  • A campaign skip after you clear it once, added as an option on character select.
  • Alternate leveling paths, like dungeons or low-level maps.
  • Faster interlude XP routes for alts.

Some players pointed to Last Epoch’s dungeon skips, Diablo 3’s Adventure Mode, or Diablo 4‘s campaign skip as good examples of how PoE2 could handle this.

Campaign Or Endgame?

The discussion also splits around what PoE2 should focus on. It seems that there are quite a few players who want the story to be the “main game,” especially since endgame is still lighter compared to PoE1. However, there are also those who argue the grind should be in endgame, not in a mandatory 20-hour campaign where most builds do not even come online until much later.

The general feeling right now is that PoE2’s campaign is fantastic once, but painful to repeat. With leagues resetting every few months, campaign fatigue is already a big concern. Unless GGG offers skips or alternate progression, many worry the game could limit its own replayability despite having such a strong foundation.
