Summary – TL;DR

As per usual, nothing matters more than capping your Elemental Resistance before anything else. This means modifiers on gear are subordinate to Resistances as long as you’re not capped. Since you’ll be running a decent amount of Unique items, it’ll be important to look out for a lot of resistances on your Rare pieces!

We’re providing you with an extensive analysis further down the page but chose to start off with an overview / recommendation.

For crafting Rare items, you can check out all the affixes that can roll on an item base, depending on its level, influence, and many other factors, using our affix tool.

Armour Pieces

Helmet

First of all, I’ll use this paragraph to point out that in an ideal world you want as many hybrid Armour / Evasion pieces as possible.

This usually means you’ll have to try to craft on said base yourself. In order to do so, you’re going to be needing to establish you expected outcome for a certain item. If you’re doing this earlier on, on limited budgets, you’re going to have to settle for less. Your ideal outcome is a helmet with decent Spell Suppression (until you are suppression capped), great resistances & a high amount of maximum Life.

Body Armour

Another source of Spell Suppression, Life & Resistances. We recommend trying to get a Rare chestpiece which has enough spell suppression to cap, alongside some much needed resistcances. You can either choose to hunt a very high life roll on it, or forego the liferoll entiretly and aim for really high armour & evasion to abuse the Life Mastery in the tree which gives you More Life if you have no Life modifiers on your chestpiece.

Gloves

Another repetitive item, however this time with a twitch. If needed, you can still pickup suppression here, to finish of reaching 100% chance to suppress spell damage. Additionally, you’ll most likely need to find a few resistances here. Lastly, you will need a single source of added Cold (or Lightning) damage to attacks to proc your elemental equilibrium. You gloves are one of the only slots where you can get this. Lastly, at the end of your gearing proces, you could finish it off by finding such a pair of gloves which also has high Fire Damage over Time Multiplier.

Boots

As per usual on boots, you’re looking for high movement speed, high life and in this case a lot of resistances. The better your boots, the less pressure there’ll be on your other items.

Belt

A Dyadian Dawn Dyadian Dawn is BiS and shouldn’t be neglected. On top of giving you great attributes, life & resistances it offers you one of the best damage multipliers there is for an ignite build. Making your ignite, which doesn’t stack and always prioritizes your strongest ignite on a target, last shorter but maintain its damage, basically just multiplies your dps by a ton. As long as you can reapply an ignite before the current ignite is running out, it is always insanely good to shorten the duration of your ignite in favor for it dealing its damage faster. Since we have no issues reapplying said ignite, it’s fairly vital you use Attack Catalysts on the Belt which are another mutliplier (they scale the faster ailments) and are generally really cheap.

Accessories

Amulet

I recommend aiming for an amulet which as +1 to Fire Skill Gems (or +1 to All Skill Gems) as well as some life, some (Fire) Damage over Time Multiplier and some resistances. For very high budget, you could get all four of those modifiers.

Anoint

Watchtowers is our anoint of choice as it’s granting us a free source of an additional totem.

Rings

Polaric Devastation Polaric Devastation is probably the BiS ring for almost any ignite build. Covering enemies in Ash is just such a sick boost to damage that it’s almsot incircumventable.

Luckily, your second ring can provide with a bunch of damage as well. Look out for a Ring (ideally an Amethyst Ring Amethyst Ring as we struggle capping chaos resistance) with high Life, high Resistances, Elemental Damage with Attack Skills and an open suffix to craft Attack Speed.

Weapon

First of all, you shouldn’t underestimate the importance of Attack Speed as long as you’re not capping out on Fuse count.
As long as you’re not getting to Fuse Cap, it’s almost irrelevant to be talking about a weapon that is not Quill Rain Quill Rain.

When you move on from Quill Rain, you should be looking for a +3 Bow, with additional Attack Speed. Ideally with open affixes for a single or multiple benchcrafts.

If you’re going to be starting on your new bow, you probably want to pick up The Porcupine The Porcupine Divination Cards.

You’ll be spamming Shrieking Essence of Dread Shrieking Essence of Dread until you hit anything that’s tier 2 or better Attack Speed. Next up, you need to be checking a few things.
You’ll need to make sure the current bow does not have a “Adds x to y Fire Damage” roll as that bricks your build.
Further more, you need an open prefix and an open suffix. If this is not the case, you either annul or go back to the previous step.
If you do meet al of these requirements, craft “Cannot roll Attack Modifier” and use an Exalted Orb Exalted Orb. This will guarantee a +1 to Level of Socketed Skills. You can then remove the crafts & craft “Minions have Increased Attack Speed” on the Bench for more attack speed again.

if you have 1 open prefix and 2 open suffix you do “Can have 3 crafted modifiers”, “Cannot roll Attack Modifier” to fill suffixes then use an Exalted Orb Exalted Orb

Quiver

For your Quiver, I recommend an Attack Speed base with additional Attack Speed, Life and maybe some other modifiers like Damage with Bow Skills, (Fire) Damage over Time Multiplier with Attack Skills, or all of them combined.

Eldritch Implicits

Item Slot Modifiers
Helmet Mana Reservation Efficiency & Flammability Curse Effect
Chest Piece Determination Aura Effect & Increased Effect of Curses
Gloves Fire Damage over Time Multiplier & Spell Suppression
Boots Ignites Deal Damage Faster & Drop Scorched Ground while moving

Flasks

Our recommendation:

Slot Flask
1 Bubbling Divine Life Flask Divine Life Flask of Assuaging
2 Chemist’s Diamond Flask Diamond Flask of the Penguin
3 Experimenter’s Granite Flask Granite Flask of the Eel
4 Chemist’s Quicksilver Flask Quicksilver Flask of the Mussel
5 Chemist’s Sulphur Flask Sulphur Flask of the Hummingbird

We recommend you to maintain the affixes listed in these recommendations but you can put them anywhere you want, freely. For example, the Penguin affix doesn’t need to be on the Diamond and can be found on a Granite Flask too meaning you can then find the Eel on the Diamond Flask.

Be sure to check out our Flask Crafting Guide to learn everything you need to know about how to set up your non-Unique flasks.

Jewels

Cluster Jewels

The guide is running 1 full Cluster Setup with a Large Cluster to start off.

The notables you’re looking for on a Large Cluster Jewel are Calamitous, Heavy Hitter & Tempered Arrowheads. You want one with 8 Passive Skills as you don’t want to waste more points than necessary getting to your next sockets & notables.

The Medium clusters, of which you’re running two, are different from one another. You want one of the four notables on the two cluster jewels to be “Sleepless Sentries” as that gives you Onslaught, which is huge. Next up, you want two Ancestral Reaches, as this is the best notable to have damage & quality of life-wise. Lastly, you’ll have one open notable to find on the medium, for which I recommend Ancestral Echo.

Unique Jewels

At the very highest of levels, this build makes use of the expensive Unnatural Instinct Unnatural Instinct which is sick but absolutely not necessary to get going. If you’ve finished up all your other chase items, make sure to look into that part of the build guide as it does pack quite a punch for its cost.

Scaling Projectiles

Because you want to avoid using a projectile multiplier in your supports, you need to find a way to add projectiles to your Totems attacks. We used to do this with the unique Rain of Splinters Rain of Splinters which used to be super cheap and easiliy accesible. However, since recent days, this jewel is now far harder to obtain and has seen a rise in price therefore. Because of that, we’ve added a Thread of Hope alternative to the Path of Building which might, or might not, be cheaper initially.

Choose whichever one you want, they’re both great options and you should pick whichever one fits your budget best.

Regular Jewels

Because you want to stay relatively tanky, I really like grabbing #% increased Maximum Life on every single one of my Rare jewels. Other than that, the best modifiers are (Fire) Damage over Time Multiplier. You can also use jewels to find enough attack speed to make sure your Fuse-math checks out.
