Huge Unique Item Buffs Arrive with PoE2s Last of the Druids Update

Path of Exile 2’s next big update, Patch 0.4.0 “The Last of the Druids”, brings a large wave of Unique item tuning. Many items received higher defensive rolls, increased damage values, or new modifiers, which makes this one of the most substantial Unique passes we have seen since the game’s early access launch.

Here are some of the more interesting changes listed in the official patch notes.

Big Defensive Buffs Across Different Uniques

A large group of armour, evasion, and energy shield chests got significant upgrades. Items like The Brass Dome, Perfidy, Keeper of the Arc, Morior Invictus, Sine Aequo, Ab Aeterno, Solus Ipse, and many others now roll noticeably higher defensive values.

• The Brass Dome jumps from 400–500% Armour to 700–800%
• Perfidy goes to 300–450% Armour and Evasion
• Keeper of the Arc gets new 250% Armour/ES rolls and 40% less damage taken from hits and DoTs
• Several items now support far tankier endgame builds without forcing perfect gear around them

For anyone who enjoys tank-heavy playstyles, this patch brought a lot of new options.

Xoph’s Blood, Pandemonious, and Choir of the Storm Get Large Resistance Buffs

Several well-known elemental amulets now provide 50–100% to their core resistances, significantly higher than before.

Xoph’s Blood now also applies -25% Fire Resistance to nearby enemies, up from -10%.

Massive Damage and Skill Interaction Changes

A few damage-centric Uniques got upgrades that will change how certain builds function:

• Doomfletch now grants 100% of Physical Damage as Extra Damage of each Element
• The Whispering Ice gets +5–7 to all Cold Spell gems and a huge buff to the Exposure it applies
• Thunderfist’s Crackling Palm jumps to 15% base crit and more Lightning Damage
• Lightning Coil now converts 30–50%of Physical hits into Lightning, up from 20–40%

Whispering Ice builds in particular are likely to feel this change immediately, as the Exposure jump is enormous.

Stronger Jewel and Socket Scaling

A few items that interact with jewels also saw major buffs:

• Grand Spectrum (Sapphire) now gives 6% All Res per socketed jewel
• The Adorned can now reach up to 150% increased effect of Jewel Sockets with corrupted Magic jewels
• Solus Ipse can now socket two additional copies of each Lineage Support

This is potentially a huge buff for jewel-stacking setups.

Quality-of-Life Adjustments for Specific Uniques

A few unique effects got interesting improvements that will make them easier and smoother to use:

• Olroth’s Resolve keeps Guard from excess life recovery for 20 seconds, up from 10
• Strugglescream now supports three Instilled modifiers
• Widow’s Reign reduces the punishment window on its Life reservation mechanic
• Cloak of Flame and Cloak of Defiance both received nicer defensive numbers

Small but meaningful changes for players who love these unique items.
