Passive Skill Tree

You can find an optimized Path of Building here. Every build I release will use the community fork of Path of Building, which is maintained and updated in a much more regular fashion than the original one. You can find PoB’s Fork, by LocalIdentity, here.

If you are not comfortable with Path of Building, we also have a PoePlanner for you. Do note that PoE Planner does not support Cluster Jewels and some specific unique jewels and it is highly recommended you install Path of Building to follow builds most optimally.

Progression Advice

I’m counting on the fact that you’re using a lot of twink gear or a Hollow Palm setup for leveling, but I’ll leave you with this Path of Building to give you an idea as to what I would suggest your tree looks like at the beginning of maps.

If you’re not comfortable with Path of Building, here’s a PoePlanner to give you an idea of how your tree should look like whenever you’re at about that level.

Gem Links

Spectral Throw Spectral Throw – Main Link (6-Link)

Your 6th link is a little bit up for debate here. Damage on Full Life outperforms Maim Support by quite a bit but also is conditional to you staying on Full Life and dodging mechanics. Play around with both and see which one feels better for you individually. Make sure to swap out Greater Multiple Projectiles Support Greater Multiple Projectiles Support for Slower Projectiles Support Slower Projectiles Support on bosses!

  1. Spectral Throw Spectral Throw
  2. Awakened Vicious Projectiles Support Awakened Vicious Projectiles Support
  3. Awakened Brutality Support Awakened Brutality Support
  4. Impale Support Impale Support
  5. Maim Support Maim Support or Damage on Full Life Support Damage on Full Life Support
  6. Slower Projectiles Support Slower Projectiles Support / Awakened Greater Multiple Projectiles Support Awakened Greater Multiple Projectiles Support

Auras

The build runs 5 auras of which 2 are linked here because you want to link them to an Enlighten Support Enlighten Support.

  1. Flesh and Stone Flesh and Stone
  2. Enlighten Support Enlighten Support (level 3 or 4)
  3. Pride Pride
  4. Maim Support Maim Support

Buffs

For your convenience, you are allowed to put all of your buffs in the same item slot. Blood Rage gets you Frenzy Charges while mapping and a big attack speed buff, Ice Golem gets you some extra Critical Strike Chance. Ancestral Protector should be put down on bosses for 20% MORE Attack Speed while Vaal Haste gives you even more Attack Speed. You’re only using the Vaal portion of Haste, and should not be reserving the regular Aura part.

  1. Blood Rage Blood Rage
  2. Summon Ice Golem Summon Ice Golem
  3. Ancestral Protector Ancestral Protector
  4. Vaal Haste Vaal Haste

Aura Setup #2

This is where the rest of your auras are run, which again are linked to an Enlighten. Dread Banner is here to help Impales where a Precision is there as it gets you some solid DPS for just reserving a very little amount of Mana. Level it up as much as you feel confident with.

  1. Precision Precision (level 1-10 is fine)
  2. Dread Banner Dread Banner
  3. Enlighten Support Enlighten Support (level 3 or 4)

Mobility

We chose to use Whirling Blades because its super fast and feels amazing! Because you can’t jump ledges with it, you’re using up your last socket on a Leap Slam Leap Slam here.

  1. Leap Slam Leap Slam
  2. Whirling Blades Whirling Blades
  3. Faster Attacks Support Faster Attacks Support

Hmm, you mention an increased hit rate but the patch notes say

Projectiles from Spectral Throw are now considered 50% larger against monsters when checking for collision.

This would be two different things and an increase to hit range is certainly nice for mapping, it doesn’t do too much in boss fights where it would actually be nice.

It says “When checking for collision” which means it’s talking about the point where ST decellerates. That means that instead of it hitting x amount of times there , it now PROBABLY gets another 2 hits in and maybe 3. That’s at least how I read it. Im fairly certain that’s also what they want it to be, more damage with the max range hit!

What would you recommend for a gem replacement for herald of purity?
