Ascendancy (Templar – Hierophant)

Conviction of Power

Conviction of Power is just incredibly nice of a node and especially as a standalone which makes it exquisite to pick up first, while leveling. It gets you Power and Endurance charges which will greatly benefit your Totems’ Damage and your personal survivability. An ascendancy notable that gets you 16% physical damage reduction, a ton of critical strike chance & some all elemental resistances (since you can’t ever lose your endurance charges) is very valuable!

Pursuit of Faith

As your second node while leveling, this comes in at the perfect time. Right about now is where you’d like that 3rd Totem to get some extra Boss DPS and Clear Speed. The Totem Duration & Placement speed are an incredibly valuable quality of life at this point in the characters progress!

Ritual of Awakening

This is the main damage amplifier for the build. Given the current iteration of the build gets up to 7 totems, 35% more damage is pretty impressive. If you add another 3,5% Mana Regeneration and 7% Life Regeneration on top of that, this node is really quite something.

Arcane Blessing

With the changes to Arcane Surge, this Ascendancy point now gives you about 25% more Damage, nothing to scuff at. Additionally, it helps with Mana Regen, which makes it so you could technically drop a few mana points if you wanted to.

Divine Guidance

An alternative to Arcane Blessing is Divine Guidance. This node grants you a little bit of Damage through Transfiguration of Mind, which makes increased and reductions to maximum Mana apply to Spell Damage, at a lesser effectiveness but it’s mainly chosen for the 10% extra Damage taken as Mana before Life. It gives you a bit more eHP but I honestly don’t think you’d ever drop the damage from Arcane Blessing in favor of this.

Bandits

There really only is one option here. You want to to help Alira . We are a Crit-Build so we honestly can’t go without Alira. She offers us Elemental Resistances, which is always nice, as it takes away some pressure from our Gear as well as some much needed Mana Regeneration and 15% Critical Strike Multiplier! It’s a pretty safe bet to say that we can’t make all of that back in 2 skill points!

Pantheons

Major Gods

Soul of Lunaris is probably your best pick. No one has ever said no to some extra Physical Damage Reduction! This is especially true with the Coward's Legacy Coward's Legacy shenanigans.

Minor Gods

I would recommend Soul of Shakari here as Damage over Time cannot be Dodged or Evaded. Some extra defenses against that are always nice!

Upgrading your Pantheons

Whilst upgrading your Pantheons never hurts you, it’s not that important for this character. If you have nothing else to do at some point, sure, why not, but it shouldn’t be something you focus on or spend a lot of time on.

Pantheon powers can be upgraded by using Divine Vessel Divine Vessel in the Map Device while you are activating the particular Map that contains the boss you need. Once you’ve killed the boss and captured his soul, you can consume the Divine Vessel Divine Vessel, which’ll show up filled in the map device, or deliver it to Sin in Oriath for extra dialogue relating to the game’s lore.
