Ascendancy (Ranger – Deadeye)

Gathering Winds

Gathering Winds got reworked to make Tailwind more of a Deadeye Niche! Since its release, Tailwind has always given 10% Action Speed, which then got increased by Gathering Winds’ 100% Increased Tailwind Effect, getting you 20% Action Speed as the “Deadeye Special”. After this change, Tailwind from other sources only grant 8% Action Speed, whilst Deadeye can increase its Tailwind to 20% still through the 150% maximum increased Tailwind effect from Gale Force. Since Deadeyes usually have incredibly Attack Speed, building up Gale Force won’t be an issue! Overall, I think this is a fair change and it makes Deadeye’s Tailwind better if anything!

Ricochet

Ricochet is a free chain without any downsides. I think a lot of people underestimate how good that actually is. Chain used to give a 30% Less Damage Multiplier just because of how good it was to clear stuff. Especially on Ice Shot, this is particularly important because your AoE part procs on every single chain!

Endless Munitions

Endless Munitions got simplified quite heavily but for the better! Adding not one but two projectiles to Barrage is insane! Very good notable to pick up both for Clear & Single Target!

Wind Ward

With 3.13 introducing Wind Ward, I think this build has gained a lot of defensive potential. Previously, Rangers and Deadeyes specifically have always felt like Glass Cannons, but between Wind Ward and all other sources of conditional Less Damage Taken that the right side of the tree now provides, I think Deadeye can compete with the more tankier archetypes of builds now! Personally, I think Wind Ward is ridiculously strong!

Focal Point

Even though I just glorified Wind Ward, I actually think that in the most optimized scenarios / characters you do not pick it. As per the guide, if you opt in to the late game option of automating all your buffs through Asenath's Mark Asenath's Mark, I think Focal Point is just a lot better. It’s unconditional in that case which makes it absolutely insane. On top of that, it’s also a very solid & reliable DPS increase through its mark effect buff.

Bandits

There really only is one option here. You want to help Alira for the Critical Strike Multiplier and the Resistances. Capping Resistances without her is too hard and we’re pretty happily accepting some Crit Multiplier too!

Pantheons

Major Gods

Soul of Lunaris is probably your best pick. No one has ever said no to some extra Physical Damage Reduction!

Minor Gods

I would recommend Yugul to cap of Curse Immunity together with the “Of the Owl” affix on one of your Flasks.

Upgrading your Pantheons

Whilst upgrading your Pantheons never hurts you, it’s not that important for this character. If you have nothing else to do at some point, sure, why not, but it shouldn’t be something you focus on or spend a lot of time on.

Pantheon powers can be upgraded by using Divine Vessel Divine Vessel in the Map Device while you are activating the particular Map that contains the boss you need. Once you’ve killed the boss and captured his soul, you need to deliver the Divine Vessel Divine Vessel, which’ll be filled up in the map device, to Sin in Oriath.
