Path of Building – Passive Skill Tree

Remember that inside, you have three Skill Tree progressions. Start with the one closest to your level and work your way up. The Skill Tree nodes need to be unlocked in the suggested order.

Gem Setups

*To simplify things for new Path of Exile 1 players, I will name the item slots where you will socket the gems.
But remember that in PoE1, you can socket these gem setups into any item that has the correct number of linked sockets and the appropriate colors.

Body Armour

1. Siege Ballista (Apply 20% quality! Big DPS boost!)
2. Increased Critical Damage Support
3. Elemental Damage with Attacks Support
4. Added Cold Damage Support (Aim for level 21 as fast as possible; flat added Cold Damage greatly boosts our damage.)
5. Inspiration Support
6. Enhance Support Level 4! ( Faster Attacks Support for Low and Medium Budget)

Bow

1. Frenzy (Keep this gem at Level 1)
2. Manaforged Arrows Support
3. Cast On Critical Strike Support
4. Frostbite
5. Frost Bomb (Keep this gem at Level 1)
6. Ensnaring Arrow (Keep this gem at Level 1)

*The bow setup works as follows: Summoning totems spends mana, which triggers Manaforged Arrows Support and causes Frenzy to activate. When Frenzy hits an enemy and critically strikes, it applies Frostbite, Frost Bomb and Ensnaring Arrow. Everything is fully automated!

Boots

1. Dash
2. Second Wind Support
3. Blood Rage
4. Enhance Support (Optional)

Gloves

1. Steelskin
2. Automation Support

1. Portal (White gem; can be inserted into any socket color!)
2. Cast on Death Support

For the gems to work, you don’t want a 4-link setup for the gloves! (Check the image)

Helmet

1. Purity of Elements
2. Grace
3. Enlighten Support (if you’re on a tight budget, buy a corrupted one to reduce the cost!)

Imbued Gems

In Patch 3.28, we received the ability to imbue our Skill Gems with level 1 Support Gems. Here is a list of the most impactful imbues for our Siege Ballista Skill Gem:
To imbue, we will use a Coin of Skill (green) on a level 20/20 uncorrupted gem.

Considerable DPS Boost (ordered from best to worst): Returning Projectiles Support, Cold Penetration Support, Hypothermia Support, Momentum Support and Faster Attacks Support.

Remember always to level up your gems and apply quality which can provide significant benefits for your gems. If you’re new to the game, pressing and holding down the ALT key on a gem, you can view and read its quality effects! You can apply quality by using Gemcutter's Prism. You can also buy low-level gems with quality already on them from the trade website, or run Labs for the Forge rewards.

Enhance Support level 4 is the best pick for our Siege Ballista gem setup! Quality on the Siege Ballista gives us a significant increase in attack speed! Its three times more powerful than using Faster Attacks Support.
