Important PoB Notes

All my guides use Path of Building. We have a simple guide for you that shows how to import my build into Path of Building, you can find the guide here

End Game PoB & Passive Skill Tree

This build is extremely straightforward tree-wise. Unlike many other minion builds we are bringing in tons of defensive layers for our minions making it much safer for new(er) & casual players to use an Animate Guardian Animate Guardian without the risk of him dying.

The PoB can be found here: https://pobb.in/WL25vRpwbCYu

Medium Budget: https://pobb.in/mxBUaErj8MaA

HelmBreaker, a member of our community has provided us with a High budget PoB: https://pobb.in/AGeAknKYgoEq

Helmbreaker also provided us with an Insanity budget, which you can find here: https://pobb.in/iZ-WOb4rvIlC

Once the skill tree is finished, just focus entirely on more Jewel Sockets or Cluster Jewels, if you can afford them.

Leveling Progression

For progression, see the trees in the attached PoB.

Masteries

A lot of the masteries available comes down to a matter of personal preference but some are more or less mandatory.

Life Mastery: “+50 to maximum life” this mastery node should be picked up in your first life cluster you get to.
Minion Offence Mastery: “20% increased effect of Offerings” Big defensive node and should be taken as soon as you start using Bone Offering.
Minion Offence Mastery: “Minions have 30% increased area of effect” The area of effect will help our minions hit more targets when clearing maps.
Minion Offence Mastery: “Minions penetrate 8% of cursed enemies’ elemental resistances” As we are aiming to deal 100% cold damage with our minions this is a huge buff.
Minion Offence Mastery: “Minions have +250 Accuracy Rating” This helps to easily cap our minions accuracy Rating
Mana Mastery: “12% increased mana reservation efficiency of skills” This helps us become able to run all our auras.
Shield Mastery: “+1% chance to block attack damage per 5% chance to block on equipped shield” A must have to reach the desired block caps.
Minion Defence Mastery: “Convocation has 40% increased cooldown recovery rate” Great clear speed increasing modifier
Minion Defence Mastery: “Minions have +8% to all maximum elemental resistances” This brings our minions elemental resistance cap from 75% to 83% making them insanely beefy.
Minion Defence Mastery: “Minions Recover 5% of Life on Minion Death” This makes it so our minions stay alive even against harder content. Especially due to Phantasm deaths healing everything else. Skeletons further fuel this, if opted into.

Leveling Gems & Links

The best feeling when levelling through the campaign is to use the skill you’re supposed to use for the end-game content as well, this build provides this in a VERY effective manner! The PoB covers most of this in detail, below you’ll find a TLDR of how to get started early on.

Do keep in mind that if you feel like you’re lacking single target damage vs any boss during the Acts, you can always change your Melee Splash to a red damage support gem such as Added Fire Damage Support Added Fire Damage Support or Melee Physical Damage Support Melee Physical Damage Support. Once you get a 4-link, I would go for the Melee Physical, and later you can change the Splash for Multistrike Support Multistrike Support instead for single target. The Aura decision comes in Act 3, which is when we enable Anger Anger for optimal damage output.

Amulet Anointment

There are plenty of great notables to anoint on your amulet, for this build we’ll go with the Testudo Notable. This will cost you: 1 Clear Oil Clear Oil, 1 Sepia Oil Sepia Oil and 1 Black Oil Black Oil

End Game Gem Links

Below you’ll find a detailed description of the gems we make use of to create our army!

6-Link Zombies with optional Skeletons.

We are utilizing up to 2 active minions in our chest to provide 2× 5-Linked minions!
While the default state here is zombies, it is objectively better to make it 2× 5-links with skeletons. This introduces an extra button, and some users have had trouble with it. It IS better, but it comes down to personal preference and not everyone wants the extra button.

  1. Raise Zombie Raise Zombie
  2. Multistrike Support Multistrike Support
  3. Elemental Damage with Attacks Support Elemental Damage with Attacks Support
  4. Melee Physical Damage Support Melee Physical Damage Support
  5. Minion Damage Support Minion Damage Support – This can be replaced with Summon Skeletons Summon Skeletons if you prefer. This gives you an additional active button, but it is more dps. Personal preference governs this choice.
  6. Elemental Army Support Elemental Army Support

Specters&Phantasms

  1. Raise Spectre Raise Spectre
  2. Summon Phantasm Support Summon Phantasm Support
  3. Culling Strike Support Culling Strike Support
  4. Bonechill Support Bonechill Support

If you’re uncertain how to summon your spectres, please check out this brief video:

The spectres we’ll be using for this build can be a bit tricky to find for the new(er) players, you can come to the global channel I made in-game by typing “/global 6666” and ask for them there if needed! We are exclusively using Primal Crushclaw for optimal damage output and they are REALLY cool looking coconut crabs!

1-Socket Trigger

  1. Bone Offering Bone Offering

1-Socket Aura

  1. Determination Determination

1-Socket Aura

  1. Summon Skitterbots Summon Skitterbots

3-Link Carrion & Stone Golem

  1. Summon Carrion Golem Summon Carrion Golem
  2. Summon Stone Golem Summon Stone Golem
  3. Feeding Frenzy Support Feeding Frenzy Support

1-S Utility

  1. Convocation Convocation

Since we are forced in to using 4x Green sockets to make all our minions deal 100% cold damage these are the best links for that:

2-Link Triad Grip Triad Grip Utility

  1. Dash Dash
  2. Second Wind Support Second Wind Support

2-Socket Triad Grip Triad Grip Utility

As these do not need to be linked to the previous group, they can be in a single socket linked to nothing.

  1. Phase Run Phase Run
  2. Desecrate Desecrate

Quick tip to make the sockets all green on these gloves is to use the bench-craft in your hideout making 2 sockets green and then use the bench-craft making the item have 2 sockets which will make it keep the 2 green sockets, then make it 3 sockets. Rinse repeat this process till that third socket turns out to be green, then you do the same between 3 & 4 socket recipes. This will cost significantly less currency to color compared to spending 1400+ chromatic orbs.

2-Socket Aura

  1. Hatred Hatred
  2. Generosity Support Generosity Support

1-Socket Steelskin

  1. Steelskin Steelskin

1-Socket The Hungry Loop The Hungry Loop Only for medium budget

Hungry Loop is a very special item and will need to “consume” support gems to make the support gem become a modifier on the item. This is done by having a level 19 support gem and then socketing it in to the ring BEFORE you level it to 20, by doing this the ring will consume the support gem!

Inside the ring:
  1. Animate Guardian Animate Guardian
Consumed supports:
  1. Minion Life Support Minion Life Support
  2. Feeding Frenzy Support Feeding Frenzy Support
  3. Meat Shield Support Meat Shield Support
  4. Elemental Army Support Elemental Army Support

The Animate Guardian is a bit tricky and I would strongly recommend watching the initial video for this build guide as well as this in-depth guide for the AG: https://www.poe-vault.com/guides/ghazzys-animate-guardian-gearing-guide. For details regarding this builds AG, see the PoB and the dedicated page in this guide.
