If Minion swarms are your thing, and you want a build that fills your screen with incredibly fast, high damage Melee Minions that shred enemies, often before you even see them, this build may be exactly what you are looking for!
A collaborative work by GhazzyTV and Lollash. If you have any questions or feedback to provide, please feel free to drop by our streams!
This build is Endgame specific, and will require a Level 60+ Mercenary before you can play it. If you are looking for a guide to play through the campaign with, we highly recommend the Grenadier Gemling Legionnaire by Dook and EMP1241.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Incredibly Aggressive Minions Clear Very Fast
- Many Alternate Ways To Scale and Upgrade
- Comes Online in the Early Endgame
- Unearth Minions may be too Aggresive, and outrun you
- Has some quirks to play around until high budget with rage generation
Build Mechanics
This build uses
Unearth as its Primary Damage Tool. This skill allows you to raise temporary Bone Constructs from corpses it is cast on, and these Minions can be scaled to have insanely high Damage, Movement and Attack Speed. Normally, this Skill is used to supplement clearing by casting it on enemies killed by your other Minions, but for this build it is the primary focus.
To be able to use
Unearth as your primary damaging tool you need 2 things:
Sacrifice to allow your other Reviving Skeletal Minions to be used for corpse consumption skills, and
Skeletal Cleric Minions to have a source of cheap Minions to Sacrifice. To Summon your Bone Constructs, you will cast
Unearth targeting your
Skeletal Cleric Minions.
The other offensive scaling you will be using is the Commanding Rage Notable Passive, combined with several other Rage related passives on the Passive Tree. These grant strong Minion Damage and Minion Attack speed bonuses based on your current Rage. Early on, you will be solving Rage Generation in a couple of ways.
First, the Blood of Rage will grant you 8 Rage every time you use a Life Flask, and
Infernal Cry supported by
Raging Cry will allow you to generate additional Rage safely from range against large packs of enemies, or powerful Unique or Rare enemies.
Defensively, you will be stacking several layers to mitigate and avoid damage. You will wear hybrid Armour/Evasion Gear in all slots, and scale it on the Passive Tree.
Arctic Armour with the alternate Quality granted by the Advanced Thaumaturgy Ascendancy Passive will grant a huge amount of Armour scaling, and several Passives granting “Armour also applies to Elemental Damage” will result in you taking significantly less damage from each incoming hit.
The Evasion granted by your gear should result in you achieving 50% or more Evasion rating, meaning half of all incoming hits will be completely avoided. In the higher budget version, you will also be running a
Wolf Pack with
Catha’s Brilliance which will result in all enemies being Blinded, further scaling your Evasion, and
Romira’s Requital will provide a source of Damage Reduction.
This combined with very aggressive swarms of Minions moving ahead of you at all time should result in you very rarely getting hit, and when you are hit taking significantly less damage.
Video Guide
Ascendancy
- Essence of Virtue – Grants
Virtuous Barrier, allowing you to scale your Life, Defenses and Life/Mana Regeneration based on your socketed Skill Gems. - Advanced Thaumaturgy – Every Skill Gem gains access to a secondary Quality that provides powerful new scaling options.
- Implanted Gems: Neurological Implants – Grants +2 Levels to all Skill Gems with an Intelligence Requirement
- Gem Studded – Provides powerful bonuses based on the color of Support Gem that is most numerous. When you balance all 3 support gem colors, gives you Critical Immunity, 30% Less Cost of Skills, and 40% Less Movement Speed Penalty when using skills. Very Strong, but You MUST have an equal number of each color of Support Gems socketed.
Skill Tree
This interactive skill tree will provide you with an overview of the final state of the build. When assigning travel Attribute Nodes, you will want to account for the requirements of your Skill Gems and Gear, and may have to respec some nodes as you find upgrades and progress.
You will see 2 Tabs at the top of the planner. The first Tree assumes that you are on a low budget, and includes nodes such as Blood of Rage to help sustain your Rage. The second Tree is for a higher budget approach and assumes you have an Amulet with
Eternal Rage as an Implicit Skill, and a
From Nothing for Ritual Cadence. If you are using the second Tree, you will need to allocate the following Notable Passives in the From Nothing radius, and should add them as soon as you get the jewel:
- Necrotised Flesh
- Gravedigger
- Relentless Fallen
- Splintering Force (if you dont have an
Uul-Netol’s Embrace)
Gem Info
In the Planner below, you will find a full list of Skill Gems and their Support Gems listed in order from highest to lowest priority, top to bottom, left to right. When choosing where you should use currency such as Perfect Jeweller’s Orbs, or when shopping for high-value Lineage Support Gems, you can use this table as a guide. Make sure you remember to Quality your Skill Gems as well, as many of the Skills in this build benefit significantly from Quality.
All of your Skills should be assigned to Weapon Set 1, with the exception of
Pounce which should be only active on your Weapon Set 2. This is to prevent the wolves it will summon when Predators Mark is consumed from sticking around and building up, which can cause body-blocking issues.
There are 2 different Skill Gem setups in the planner below. The first is a low budget plan, with no Lineage Support Gems, and is perfectly capable of completing all content in the game. The second contains several powerful Lineage Support Gems which provide additional power at a substantial cost.
Important Note: Due to the Gem Studded Ascendancy Passive, you need to balance your Support Gems so that you have an equal number of each color. The Skill Planner adds a large number of random Green Support gems, but depending on your exact setup and gear you may need to adjust this. Just remember to check how many of each color you have, which can be seen at the top of the Skill Gem Screen.
Build Files
If you would like to have an in-game guide to see the recommended Passive Tree and Skill Gems, you can download this file. It will need to be placed in the folder found at this file-path:
C:\Users[Your Username]\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2\BuildPlanner
Please keep in mind that a .build file does not replace a written guide, as there is a lot of information that just cannot be reasonably added to that file in a digestible way. For the best experience, and to make sure you have the most up-to-date information, make sure you refer to both the in-game file and the written guide here!
Below you fill find 2 seperate build files, one for the low budget version and one for the higher budget version. You will need to make sure you have the correct one downloaded and selected for your current budget.
C:/Users/(Name)/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2/BuildPlanner.C:/Users/(Name)/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2/BuildPlanner.Skill Rotation
The build uses some unusual tech to maximize its damage output and summon
Unearth Bone Constructs, so you will need to make sure to follow these rules when choosing when and how to use your abilities.
Maintaining high Rage on yourself is an important damage scalar, due to the Commanding Rage Notable Passive. In high budget, this is achieved with an
Eternal Rage Amulet. Before you have access to this expensive option you will be using a combination of
Infernal Cry with the
Raging Cry Support Gem, used on Cooldown on any large packs of enemies, and using your Life Flask to gain 8 Rage due to the Blood of Rage Notable Passive. When starting a Map, spam your life flask a few times to build up some initial rage, and then use your Life Flask to keep your Rage from decaying.
To summon your
Unearth Bone Constructs you can cast over enemy corpses, but most importantly you should periodically cast towards your
Skeletal Cleric Minions, which are considered corpses due to the
Sacrifice Spirit Gem. The ideal use is to cast over your Clerics every time they teleport to you, and ideally hitting about half of them every cast. This causes your remaining Clerics to revive any that were killed or consumed by your
Unearth, creating an effectively infinite source of Bone Constructs.
Pain Offering can be used whenever you are fighting in a static combat situation, either against Bosses or League mechanics. Due to
Sacrifice you can sacrifice the Offerings created if you hit them with Unearth, so you should either avoid doing this or be prepared to recast
Pain Offering if you ever sacrifice it.
Pounce provides a massive Increased Damage Taken modifier, and enables almost instant Armour Break against very dangerous enemies. Most of the time this is completely unnecessary, and is typical not used while mapping. When starting a Boss fight you can use the combination of
Pounce,
Infernal Cry and then
Pain Offering to maximize the damage you deal.
In summary, here is the basics of skill usage for the build:
- Use
Infernal Cry on cooldown towards any large packs of enemies, specifically targeting Rare or Unique enemies to maintain Rage. If Rage starts decaying or is low, use your Life Flask to build it up or stop its decay. - Cast
Unearth to consistently resummon your Bone Constructs, targeting your
Skeletal Cleric Minions, ideally hitting half of them every cast. You can also hit large groups of corpses. - Use
Pounce against Bosses right as they spawn, followed immediately by
Infernal Cry and
Pain Offering to maximize your damage.
Gearing
Gear Affixes
In the table below, you will see a breakdown of the most important affixes for each gear slot, as well as what unique items the build uses. These are listed in order of priority, so consider your gearing options carefully.

Instilling Your Amulet
To gain access to the ability to instill your Amulet, you will need to progress the Delirium Questline in the Endgame mapping system. In low budgets you can Instill Relentless Fallen for some Minion damage and Movement Speed scaling. As soon as you have a good Amulet and can afford it, you will want to Instill Paragon using a Ferocity, Isolation and Despair Emotion for the 5% Quality and +5 Attributes.
Unique Items
From Nothing – This jewel allows you to allocate several powerful notables, and provides a significant boost to Minion Damage and Survivability, as well as providing you with instant life recovery when Sacrificing your Minions using
Unearth.
Prism of Belief – Adding additional levels to your primary skill is a significant bonus, but remember that your maximum Skill Level is 40. This build, when properly put together, does not require a Prism of Belief, but it can be an easy way to gain 2 or 3 levels if the price is right.
Morior Invictus – An alternate option for your Body Armour slot, this Unique has variable rolls, so if you choose to use it make sure you get one with +# Spirit, and 2 other useful modifiers. Particularly powerful when corrupted to have a 5th Augment Slot
Loreweave – Another Body Armour option with highly variable rolls. When looking for these try and find one with high +% Quality of All Skills and “Maximum Elemental Resistances are xx%” modifiers, and pay attention to the 3 random Ring modifiers to make sure none of them break the build.
Augments
This table will show you what Augments are used for each gear slot.
| Slot | Socketable |
|---|---|
| Main Hand | Hedgewitch Assandra’s Rune of Wisdom |
| Off Hand | Primate Idol |
| Helm | Idol of Ralakesh / Raven-Touched Shard (Soul Meridian) |
| Body Armour | Fox Idol / Tecrod’s Gaze / Rabbit Idol |
| Gloves | Cadigan’s Epiphany |
| Boots | Farrul’s Rune of the Chase / Soul Core of Quipolatl |
Jewels
This build gets access to a lot of Jewel Sockets with its long pathing and Augments/Instills in high budget. There are a lot of valuable mods that can be rolled on all of the different types of Jewels, but when starting out you should look for Sapphires with the following modifiers, in order of Priority:
- Minions have % to all Elemental Resistances (until you have capped your Minion Resistances)
- Minions deal % increased Damage
- Minions have % increased Attack Speed
- % increased Presence Area of Effect
In addition to regular Jewels, you could also pursue Unique jewels such as
Heart of the Well, though it has incredibly high variability of affixes, or
Prism of Belief to scale your Primary Skill, or
Megalomaniac with multiple valuable Notables for the build. These items, if popularized, can quickly become insanely expensive, and are very difficult to self-farm, so we encourage you to explore the market and keep an eye out for anything that might be very valuable.
Flasks and Charms
The recommended setup for your flasks and charms is:
- Life Flask – Grants % of Life Recovery to Minions | % reduced Charges per use
- Mana Flask – % of recovery applied instantly | % reduced Charges per use
- Charms – Thawing Charm, Gold Charm, Grounding Charm
- Also grants # Guard | % reduced Charges per use
