Passive Skill Tree

Click here for our recommended Level 100 Passive Skill Tree.

Notes on the Passive Skill Tree:

  • Scoop up Resolute Technique immediately to ensure you are not missing any Earthquake Earthquakes
  • Prioritize Warcry related notables as soon as you have access to Seismic Cry Seismic Cry
  • Call to Arms is optional — try with and without and choose based on your preference
  • Prioritize Axe and Physical damage nodes while leveling and start enhancing your bleed as you enter the latter half of the leveling process
  • Leave Jewel sockets for the 90s unless you have high quality Jewels ready to socket
  • Adamant is the lowest priority node on the tree
  • Balance your defenses and acquire more Life and Endurance charges as you need them
  • Nodes above Resolute Technique (Large Jewel socket, Devotion, Endurance, and Jewel Socket) are optional and be left for last or used as points for a Cluster Jewel

Crimson Dance is entirely optional but provides noticeably better single target damage in the late game. Playing without Crimson Dance gives your Earthquake Earthquake a single powerful bleed, which can be advantageous for clear if enemies survive your Earthquake/Aftershock combo. Crimson Dance offers much higher bleed dps, which is great for bosses and tanky rares, but the bleed off of a single Earthquake Earthquake is less. You can somewhat compensate for this by properly using Vaal Earthquake Vaal Earthquake to quickly stack your Crimson Dance. There are advocates for both sides of this coin, but our recommendation is to play with Crimson Dance.

Path of Building

Find our recommended Passive Skill Trees, all from the comfort of Path of Building found here.

Included are all the skill trees, recommended gear, and an example set of mid-level gear with room for upgrades. For simplicity’s sake, Resistances have been left out and you should fill them out yourself based on what gear is available.

We use the Path of Building Community Fork for all of our builds, which is highly recommended. If you are encountering errors importing the build, please ensure you are using the Community Fork.

You’ll also want to include Blood Rage Blood Rage in the item that contains this linkage, but it gains no benefit from being linked and prevents the necessity for a second 6-Link in your build.

  1. Blood Rage Blood Rage

Warcry 4-Link

  1. Seismic Cry Seismic Cry
  2. Intimidating Cry Intimidating Cry
  3. Second Wind Support Second Wind Support

  3. Faster Attacks Support Faster Attacks Support

The fourth gem in this link is a matter of preference. It could be used for a golem, a Portal Portal gem, a Decoy Totem Decoy Totem, or anything that you like to incorporate into your build to improve quality of life. Our default recommendation is:

  1. Summon Stone Golem Summon Stone Golem

Defensive or Offensive 4-Link

Choose one of these two links. Players looking to map more heavily and delve deeper should lean towards the defensive linkage, while players who are looking to add a little more single target damage for late-game bosses such as Awakener might prefer the offensive option instead. Both are perfectly viable choices, though our default recommendation for most players is the defensive option.

Defensive Molten Shell Molten Shell 4-Link

  1. Molten Shell Molten Shell (Level 20)
  2. Cast when Damage Taken Support Cast when Damage Taken Support (Level 20)
  3. Enduring Cry Enduring Cry

  3. Awakened Melee Physical Damage Support Awakened Melee Physical Damage Support
  4. Ruthless Support Ruthless Support

If your weapon does not having Culling Strike (as shown in the Path of Building and in the gear section) then you should replace Ruthless Support Ruthless Support with Culling Strike Support Culling Strike Support in this link.

Nice guide! Gonna give this one a try in the future for sure.
Only the links to the passive skill trees don’t seem to work, getting a 404 error when clicking them.

Hopefully you still check this. Do I want to have a 6 link atziris Disfavor and a 6 link the brass dome? Or do I just want to 6 link one and which one is more important. And if I have both 6 linked what other skill would you use, maybe to get some more damage.

Hey Shopaz, 6-Linking your weapon should be a priority. Once you’ve done that you have the freedom to wear any Body Armour you want. If you have a 2nd 6-Link, I’d recommend 6-Linking your totem for extra damage output.

Thank you for taking the time to write this guide. Went through lab with a 30 chaos orb budget and some self found items with no problem what so ever.

Hi so this build looks good, im currently lvling a guy to test it, but i was curious why you have blood magic support on leap slam if you already take blood magic in the passive tree? seems redundant

I found a kitava’s feast today and was wondering if it would be a viable option until azirti’s axe the damage is good it’s the level 25 melee splash support i’m curious about, will it hurt or help earthquake?

Thanks for the guide, seems like this is my Legion starter. My question is whether I could put Leap Slam somewhere else instead of the alternate weapon set to avoid having to switch?

Kitava's Feast Kitava's Feast is a great Axe and it will do the work for sure, Melee Splash Support Melee Splash Support will not affect Earthquake Earthquake though.

Another question I have is that through my observation of my stat screen, the phys reduction is capped at 90%, which is easily reached with endurance charges. So what is the point of having like 15k armor with the Brass Dome, does it do anything or is it more trouble than it’s worth and I’m just better off going for more life? Also this build has been great, facetanking bosses easy.

Glad to hear you like the build, if you’ve already reached 90% phys reduction you can drop some Armour for other stats.

Ok thanks for the tip. Turns out having loads of armor isn’t that practical.

I also want to ask whether there are any recommended level caps for gems in the Immortal Call setup, as with other builds?

Not in this one since you can reliably cast it with 5 Endurance charges for maximum damage mitigation.
