Velyna's Explosive Concoction Gearing (PoE The Forbidden Sanctum)
The Stages
This is a list of gear used in each phase of the build, the phases are meant to lead one into the next for a smooth trip from leaguestart to endgame. Below is a video of how to craft your endgame gear.
Leaguestart
At this stage you are using very basic rares and a couple of easily obtainable uniques. The most important item is the chest, ideally it should be 5 linked.

Transition
When you get a RRRGGB or RRGGGB colored Skin of the Loyal, drop the carcass jack. Use either Inspiration or Greater Multiple Projectiles depending on coloring. Endgame
Chest is upgraded to Skin of the Lords with Elemental Overload. One ring is replaced with
Circle of Anguish. Amulet, boots, gloves and helm can be crafted for substantial upgrades.

Armour/Weapons
This is a detailed explanation of why I wear these items, based on a gear level somewhere between Endgame and God PoB’s.
Helm
AoE enchant on an armour/evade base is ideal, pure evasion works also. Both of the implicits here are aimed at fitting in our auras and sustaining mana so don’t forget them. Accuracy is important for maximizing DPS, but it doesn’t have to be here, it can also be on gloves or ring.
Amulet
Any rare +1 to lightning/fire/cold gems with life and resist will last you a long time. Upgrading to +2 is massive for DPS when you can afford it. The -mana cost can be skipped depending on your mana sustain situation.
Chest
Skin of the Lords with Elemental Overload.
In the early phases, wear a Skin of the Loyal and you will have to path over to Elemental Overload.
Once you get a chest with Elemental Overoad and either GGRRRB or GGGRRB coloring, you can drop the left half of the tree like what’s shown in Endgame PoB. Use either Inspiration or Greater Multiple Projectiles depending on colors, just be aware mana will be tighter without inspiration.
Boots
Rolling ailment avoid with loathing essences, plus the implicit, gets us halfway to ailment immune. Action speed is massive DPS, as is the lab enchant for 10% penetration.
Gloves
This is a massive slot for DPS in the mid to late game. Both implicits are powerful while being easy to roll yourself with eldritch orbs. Attack speed and open prefix for leech damage, plus high life and however much resist you can get can run quite expensive but it’s worth it. Spell suppress is not always needed here, it depends on the rest of your gear.
Belt
Life and flask stuff here, plus damage. The flask gain may not be needed, so you can start with life+%life and whatever else you manage to get.
Shield
Ideally an armour/evasion base, or pure evasion if you must. Spell suppression plus ailment makes this a huge defensive slot so if you are dying a lot get those covered.
Ring 1
Circle of Anguish with reservation efficiency and % fire damage rolls. This helps cover STR requirements and gives some resist. - Trade Search -
Ring 2
This is a great place to grab a lot of resists and cover accuracy or INT requirements. Make sure you have an open prefix for the -mana craft, and get % elemental damage if you can afford it
Jewels
Uniques
Glorious Vanity: Giving overleech for just 5 passive points, this jewel easily deserves a slot.
Watcher's Eye: The end goal here is “% attack damage with Precision” plus a Determination mod. You can go for phys damage reduction, armour or reduced critical damage with Determination they are all good.
Impossible Escape: Wind Dancer impossible escape gives access to a ton of valuable nodes without having to path to them. Not required until you upgrade to the Skin of the Lords chest armour. - Item Search -
Forbidden Flesh: Combined with a matching Forbidden Flame, you gain an extra ascend node. Raider or Pathfinder works fine so get the cheapest one and just spec into whichever you don’t buy.
Cluster Jewels
Large: Feed the Fury and Martial Prowess are most important if you can only get two, but it is worth upgrading to the 3 node later on as it helps when min/maxing gear. - Large Cluster Search -
Medium: We use 3 of these, all the same with Eye to Eye + Repeater. Both of these are very high value nodes. - Medium Cluster Search -
Small: Enduring composure gives us reliable endurance charge generation, and we can score some attributes and/or resists here as well. - Small Cluster Search -
Small: Fettle keeps our life pool at a decent level with all the pathing we have to do. - Small Cluster Search -
Flasks
Flasks are a huge part of this build, make sure to craft them up properly.
Life
This is the setup I run, feel free to change it to your preference.
Sapphire+Topaz
We want these to be always full and rarely used. Explosive Concoction will consume charges from these flasks without activating them, so the best thing here is to craft “Gain 7 Charges when you are Hit by an Enemy “ since we don’t care about the downside. You can use these for elemental ailment protection at first, just remember that during a boss your DPS will drop if you hit them and run out of charges.
Amethyst
I run amethyst usually. I like to automate these to gain charges when hit, and use when charges reach full.
Quartz
The chalice can also replace quartz if desired. I like to roll for poison and curse protection on quartz/amethyst but that’s up to you.
