Path of Building – Passive Skill Tree

Gem Setups

*To simplify things for new Path of Exile 1 players, I will name the item slots where you will socket the gems.
But remember that in POE1, you can socket these gem setups into any item that has the correct number of linked sockets and the appropriate colors.

Body Armour

1. Herald of Agony (Level 21 and 20% Quality)
2. Empower Support (Level 4)
3. Awakened Minion Damage Support (Level 5 and 20% Quality) // At level 5, you will get “+1 to Level of Supported Minion Skill Gems”
4. Awakened Void Manipulation Support (Level 5 and 20% Quality) // At level 5, you will get “+1 to Level of Supported Chaos Skill Gems”
5. Damage on Full Life Support
6. Pierce Support

Remember, for the body armour we will use Dialla's Malefaction. This unique armour allows you to socket gems without worrying about color restrictions.
It is very important to socket the Herald of Agony gem into a green socket and the Empower Support gem into a red socket!
To easily change socket colors, you can use a Tainted Chromatic Orb on a corrupted armour.
You will roll with Tainted Chromatic Orb until you get 1 green and 5 red sockets.

Sceptre

1. Cyclone (Level 1 and 20% Quality)
2. Tornado of Elemental Turbulence (Level 1 and 20% Quality)
3. Ball Lightning of Orbiting (Level 1 and 20% Quality)

Shield

1. Awakened Cast While Channelling Support
2. Chance to Poison Support
3. Lifetap Support

Gloves

1. Automation Support (20% Quality)
2. Convocation (20% Quality)
3. Steelskin (20% Quality)

Boots

1. Flame Dash
2. Despair
3. Lifetap Support

Helmet

1. Raise Spectre
2. Feeding Frenzy Support

For the Spectres we will use Perfect Dark Marionette. These are special spectres that will be resummoned once they die.

1. Petrified Blood
2. Tempest Shield

Remember always to level up your gems and apply quality; quality can provide significant benefits for your gems. If you’re new to the game, note that by pressing and holding down the ALT key on a gem, you can view and read its quality effects! You can apply quality by using Gemcutter's Prism. You can also buy low-level gems with quality already on them from the trade website, or run Labs for the Forge rewards.

Remember that Herald of Agony scales damage greatly via gem levels and virulence! That is the reason we want a Herald of Agony skill gem Level 21 and with 20% quality. Same reason why we want Awakened Minion Damage Support level 5, Awakened Void Manipulation Support Level 5 and Empower Support Level 4
